Running in Dulwich Park

Hi there,

Does anyone know the distance of the running loop of Dulwich Park? I have seen markings on the ground there, but I am not sure of the distance. I would like to calibrate my Nike + running sensor, so I need to know the measurement of the path.

It's just over a mile. Maybe 1.1 miles. I ran it a lot in marathon training but can't remember the exact length.

I need to get an exact measurement in order to calibrate the sensor, so I am think a 400m running track might be better for this - is there one of these in the local vacinity?

Top of Peckham Rye park (Forest Hill end) has one marked out at present.

According to the markings on the ground it's 1700m to go around the road but not sure how accurate that is

I was told by a trainer there that it is 1800 metres, just over a mile.

We run our running club mile championships there, and the road is just short of a mile, by about 9 yards. If for a running sensor, I'd suggest finding a track instead, less chance of wandering off the route the measurer took.

Approx 1.48 miles if you include the field part which runs between the court lane gate and the bike hire place.

I run 3 laps of the main ring road and my Garmin Forerunner measures 5.2km - 1.73km / 1.07 mile per lap

Paulie how do you find the Garmin Forerunner? I have one but the battery seems to run out very quickly. I only changed it about 3 months ago and now it's saying 'LO BATT'. Thing is I've calibrated it and once I change the battery it means having to do this again.

Do you mean **charged** it? THree months tells me you're not using that a huge amount! I can normally get about 10 hours use out of it before a recharge.

!?!?!?! The Forerunner doesn't need calibrating, it works of GPS. You sure it's a forerunner you've got?

If you run round the road inside the park it's about a mile, so go round 1.5 times.

There's a 300 metre(!) running track at Dulwich College Sports Centre opposite the main college site.

or run the entire dog walking track which is 1.5 miles.
