Yes, I can see that morning meeting at ITV HQ. 'Cilla's dead. Stick it on again.'

Grieving time is all too brief at ITV as well.

Wait until the press get wind that Cecil was a bigamist, fathered multiple bastard offspring, leading to hordes of single parent lionesses roaming the African plains scavenging on scraps and handouts...Channel 5 have already commissioned the biopic.

My thoughts on this were that its rare that tributes to people who have died seem so positive and genuine. From Jimmy Tarbuck, Bruce etc

But strangely no one seemed particularly sad, they seemed to be celebrating her life rather than grieving, possibly because she was such a happy, warm and generous person, who had enjoyed her life to the full and was still enjoying it to the end, the way we all would probably.

There's always been plenty of background industry chatter of the non-warm-and-generous ilk, Mick. I'm not sure Tarby and Bruce can be relied upon for the complete picture..

Personally I put most of any negativity down to a healthy dose of misogyny with a side of envy. Anyway, she never really gave much of a toss what anyone thought of her, because she thought she was great - and so did twenty million other people at one point, so who's to argue?

She had a great life, she got to the top, did everything she wanted to do - and said many times she wanted to die before she got too old. Sounds like things worked out just fine.

And you are clearly free to behave like a charmless git. 1/10- please try harder.

It's sad that Cilla passed away, she was a star and a proper lady, I never heard anything horrible or scandalous about her. My condolences to anyone who is in mourning.

My cat died, dropped dead aged 2 and a half ... sudden death syndrome. I still miss my cat every day, more than I miss some people. Thank you.

No, me or *Bob* send up a maroon when either of you post

Listen out for the 'boom' it's a dead give away

If it's dead juicy we use a golden shower firework

Oh dear again !!

And I thought she was more down to earth than all that ... during an appearance on Room 101 she claimed to dislike the "do you know who I am ? " celebs and wouldn't use celebrity to her advantage. She said that if she phoned a restaurant and they didn't have a table for Mrs Willis, then they didn't have a table for Cilla Black.

Written after her death and therefore could be a bunch of

rubbish - although most celebrities have airs and graces

and I've seen worse - and acted worse on a plane (when it

leaked hydraulics and they were about to go anyway) :).
