Hi Anna,


My husband (local to East Dulwich) has a band. They do the usual wedding classics and with advance notice are happy to do specific requests. They are a very reasonable price (not charging premiums for weddings). If you want his details pm me with your email address and he will get in contact.

I was a founder member of a function band (I left when it got a bit too much with 2 small kids and gigs every weekend). They can go out with the full line up including horn section, or will do a smaller group. Matt Brown is the drummer and the main man to chat to. Details herehttp://www.baregroove.com/

Hi Anna,


we're getting married in a couple of weeks and are having a band called the 'fandangoes'. Don't judge by the name!! We went to about 12 friends weddings last year and thees guys stood out as being the best by far. They are really fun and the main reason we chose them is just as you say, so we could have a good old boogie! Check them out.

That really made me laugh. I was a founder member of BareGroove, which is an absolutely awful name in my opinion, but equally it's pretty memorable which is a good thing.


Band names are a nightmare to come up with!

We had an awesome band called the road runners - they are more rocky (not so much rubbish cheese) 60s - to current. Everyone young and old loved them. They are about 1,250 for the night (there are 5 of them) which seemed cheaper in comparison to some.


They played at our wedding and a friends.


At one point we were all 'moshing' to Nivarna including my parents friends and aunts and uncles!


My husband used to be in a band and they did let them have a little reunion on stage - nice guys!


We also had a Piano man - he played whatever you wanted on request - he had an AMAZING repertoire - he played everything from memory. He was about 300 quid - so a cheaper alternative - but still live music and interactive!

Hey! There are lots of bands you can find and book in the Internet. But may I know where you?re from? My friend in Scotland recently got married and I flew there to witness it. We haven?t seen each other in years so in the reception, she told me everything, from the planning, to the dress fitting, and such. And their band, oh my, they were really good. I forgot to ask the band?s name but she told me they had a hard time picking as there are many good wedding bands Scotland.

      I used to go to Brockwell all the time, but with lockdown it changed from being able to stay all day sunbathing and swimming to a limited lane swim time slot for the same price. This totally changed the relaxed vibe. It's also incredibly difficult to book online. If this has changed back I'd love to know. I really miss how it was. I guess it was an easy way to make a lot more money!

      Yes.  It happens to a neighbour who has a van parked off Sydenham Hill quite a lot. It's because the fuel lines are easier to get to than cars.

      I like the idea of a lido, provided it's accessible to all. I haven't been for a while now.   Do you have to book Brockwell lido in advance and or have they gone back to just queuing  to enter?  Are you able to stay for as long as you wish or are there time slots.  Do teenagers  have access to these spaces? I can't see them booking in advance and time restrains would  not work for them...particularly if its costly. The last time I went to the lido it seemed to lack the diversity that it once had.

      If you want to reduce the sound from your flat, you can add acoustic or sound absorbing material under your carpet. There are many options for different budgets (google sound reduction in upstairs flat) In terms of improving your relationship with your downstairs neighbour, a really good first action would be to stop labelling him as mentally ill and start to consider that he may be very stressed and grumpy after prolonged noisy upstairs neighbours who don't take any notice of his complaints. There's always two sides to one story, but this is completely solvable
