Bonjour, buenos dias, gutentag and all that lark.

I'm running a pub quiz as an opening gambit to my work summer party tomorrow. I've put together a good few questions already (have to admit I did steal one or two from Tuesday's Clockhouse quiz!), but am in need of a few extra teasers to throw in. So far, I've roughly divided it to General Knowledge, Sport, Entertainment (Music, Film & TV), Science & Nature, Geography and a picture round.

Any suggestions? Nothing too hard - the average age in my company is early-mid 20s and they're all a bit simple quite frankly!

Cheers!

Extraordinary! He is one of the worst players I have ever seen!

Mind you I am biased as he cost me ?700 when he missed from under the cross bar about 3/4 years ago which was physically impossible but No-Kan-Do managed it....:-S

Q= Who is the only person to be born on the Underground?

A= Thelma Ursula Beatrice Eleanor (note her initials) was born in 1924 on a Bakerloo line train at Elephant & Castle.

Q= What are the best places to spot mice running around the tracks of the underground ?

A= Waterloo station (northbound on the Bakerloo line) and any platform at Oxford Circus.

What's with everyone's obsession with tube questions?! Maybe it's because we don't have one in our leafy suburbs? I thought everyone saw that as a good thing, but we're obviously kidding ourselves!

Anyway, they are all good questions, but I do have one in there already about the tube.

What's the only tube station not to have any of the letters of "mackerel" in it?

The somewhat contentious answer is St. John's Wood. Contentious in case someone wants to get pedantic about the Saint abbreviation.

Will probably also throw this one in there as part of a set of "What comes next?" stolen straight from the Clockhouse Quiz!

Pimlico, Victoria, Green Park, Oxford Circus....... A: Green Park

Final talk of tube questions - the only 2 tubes with all the vowels? A: Mansion House and South Ealing.

Any Science & Nature or Entertainment questions from anyone?

General:

Q: What is the best chocolate bar

A: Snickers

Sport:

Q: Would Tyson have beaten Ali, if both men were in their prime?

A: No

Entertainment:

Q: Were The Clash better than The Pistols

A: Yes

Science:

Q: What sort of car we will be driving in 100 years time?

A: Flying cars powered by nuclear fusion (with auxillary wind turbines on top)

Geography:

Q: Which place is hotter - Thailand or Egypt

A: Trick question.

Picture Round:

Q: Which one is the "real" batman (show pictures of Keaton, Bale, Clooney, Kilmer)

A: Adam West

BJL's Delia/Stones question definitely makes the cut.

Jeremy, I like your style - I might have to make a new round with these kind of questions and even tailor a few to my office... Who is the biggest gimp in the company? John. Who is the best employee in the company? Rowanofski.

A. Pancreas

Q. Where would an American put a diaper?

A. On a baby's bottom.

    • Hope all the ‘high streets for people’ events went well! Very short notice probably for people living in the area and on a very hot day!  James McAsh just doesn’t know what to do next with Southwark Council Tax payers money. He advocates the few streets in the area that has a bus service and then shuts the routes down! Very annoying for people who want to go about their daily business and have already had restrictions brought in by McAsh.
    • Thank goodness for Greg. I had an awful situation whereby I was notified that water was leaking from my flat into the flat below me. I was 150 miles away at the time and had a panicked journey home not knowing what I was going to face.   I called Greg (after seeing reviews on the forum) as soon as I arrived home in the evening and he arrived just after 10pm and was able to shut off the problem. He had to come back to finalise the job which turned out to be caused in a communal area whereby there was a blockage in the stack pipe.   Greg worked quickly, efficiently and informed me every step of the way as to what he was doing and why. He also cleaned up really well afterwards.  Greg's charges are very reasonable and he will definitely be my "go-to" if I have any other plumbing issues in the future.
