I must admit though I have no desire to make a commitment to one, I'm far too fickle. I am however fascinated by Tattoo art.

I know a tree surgeon who is originally from a small island off Hawaii, though I hadn't seen him for a while. I recently bumped into him in Sainsbury's and asked him where he'd been. His mother recently died, so he went on a spiritual trip to reconnect & all that stuff.

He seemed so chilled out (& a bit mad ) , he looked different , very fit and healthy but also now covered (& i mean covered) in traditional tattoos done the old way with ink and a tapping board needle by one of his relatives. It looks on him beautiful, I suppose it's the authenticity that stands out, like a warrior, but on me ? No I'd look like a prat ( actually even without tatts)

I asked him how it felt doing it the old way "I think i cried for a week" he said . This guy's an ex-Royal marine with the 1000 yard stare and all that. So noooo way a lame arse design queen like me would last 10 minutes....No way!

Ohh mummy....( and I hate her..) ..it hurts!

louisiana, do you wear make up?

I love my tattoos. I have two. One is a large tarantula that does look lifelike but the one on my arm is the Happy Human logo of the British Humanist Association, kinda done because it's a GREAT colour, and I am sick of seeing big black crosses tattood on people!

It's only about two inches long.

small tattoos are a waste of time. it looks crap when you see someone and think they've got a dirty mark on their ankle/shoulder and then get closer to realise it's a tattoo!

I've got one that is an abstract design of a dancing deer. I got the design from a National Geographic magazine that ran an article on a 4000 yr old priestess found preserved in Siberia. She had the design tattooed on her.

I love it as it is unusual and original. It's not the usual colour and is quite big yet discreet.

It's very important to get a good artist. Knowing the best place to position a tattoo with the curves of muscle etc is a skill.

I always thought Paula Yates's tattoo on her arm was done in the wrong place.

I dont know quite what it is, but, that kid is unlikeable. He looks sly and arrogant . The rest dont .

Tattoo by The Who.

Me and my brother were talking to each other

'Bout what makes a man a man

Was it brain or brawn, or the month you were born,

We just couldn't understand

Our old man didn't like our appearance

He said that only women wear long hair

So me and my brother borrowed money from Mother

We knew what we had to do

We went downstairs, past the barber and gymnasium

And got our arms tattooed

Welcome to my life, tattoo

I'm a man now, thanks to you

I expect I'll regret you

But the skin graft man won't get you

You'll be there when I die

Tattoo

My dad beat me 'cause mine said "Mother"

But my mother naturally liked it and beat my brother

'Cause his tattoo was of a lady in the nude

And my mother thought that was extremely rude

Welcome to my life, tattoo

We've a long time together, me and you

I expect I'll regret you

But the skin graft man won't get you

You'll be there when I die

Tattoo

Now I'm older, I'm tattooed all over

My wife is tattooed too

A rooty-toot-toot, A rooty-tooty-toot-toot

Rooty-toot-toot tattoo too

    • https://www.assistancedogs.org.uk/information-hub/assistance-dogs-emotional-support-dogs-and-therapy-dogs/   hello   i’d be interested to understand if anyone.has experience of Assistance Dogs especially for autistic children of different ages for emotional support and therapy   There was a prior thread on this topic on EDF 10 hrs ago but it had limited experiences and there was a (claimed) change in UK legislation in 2019. Whilst the industry appears unregulated/unlicensed, there are several providers (approx 15, perhaps more) who claim to have fully trained dogs or say that they can help families to train a puppy/young dog over the 18-24 months.  The latter obviously comes with a need for strong commitment to the challenge. Costs for a fully trained assistance dog are quoted at £13-15k albeit they claim £23k total cost to train the dog. On the one hand, this could potentially be a useful solution for some families if such a dog was truly trained as their websites claim and such a dog was accepted in public places and schools etc… On the other hand, I don’t think that I’ve ever seen an assistance dog of this type or in this context (only for a blind or partially sighted person) and hence a real risk of fraud or exploitation! The SEN challenge for families coupled with limited resources in schools or from local authorities or the NHS as well as the extremely challenging experience of many families with schools offering little or no support or making the situation worse leaves a big risk of lots of different types of fraud and or exploitation in this area.
    • Hi there  We live on Woodwarde Road backing on to Alleyns Top Field.  Our cat Gigi has gone missing — it’s been about 24 hours now. She is a cream Bengal. Could you please check sheds, garages, or anywhere she might have got stuck please? And if you could keep an eye out or share on any local groups/forums, we’d really appreciate it. Photo attached.   Thanks so much! My name is Jeff on 07956 910068.
    • Colin.    One for the old school.   Just saying.
