Hi Laura,

I'd highly recommended Simone (mind over matter boxing) on dog kennel hill. It's an amazing workout and also really fun! I've been going for about 3 months now and I'm addicted! Simone is so friendly and pushes you in a really encouraging way. She also does way ins of body fat and muscle % which is great to see the effects! Also very affordable. Definitely the only trainer I'd see!

I highly highly recommend Lauren - I used her for my wedding. I lost 15cm off my hips in 5 months!

She does boxing, kettle bells, resistance straps and Bulgarian bags (no I had never heard of them either)

She does semi private sessions on Peckham Rye.

Maybe I will see you there!

:-)

Hi Laura,

I would also highly recommend Simone at Mind over Matter Boxing. She is a fantastic trainer, really motivating, focussed and achieves fantastic results! The boxing element of her workouts are an amazing way to get fit and obtain great toning and definition. Even when I'm feeling shattered at the end of a long week, I always feel brilliant after my workout! Simone's sessions are also really affordable - go for it!!

Good luck

Hi Laura,

I too can recommend Simone at Mind over Matter Boxing. I've been doing PT sessions with her in order to lose a bit of baby weight and increase fitness levels. I've only been seeing her for about a month but already I can see and feel the difference. She is a fantastic motivator and will design a bespoke work out for you. She will work you hard but you will feel fantastic after!

She's lovely and very reasonably priced! I cannot recommend her enough!

Hi Laura,

Another recommendation for Simone! I've done 1 to 1 PT with her as well as the group PT classes (excellent value). I also go her women's or mummies classes depending on what fits in.

She's great at tailoring the workouts to your needs- I started just after a c-section birth so exercises were adapted accordingly. She is also very happy to work around kids which is great for me.

As others have mentioned she's really motivating and keeps the workouts varied and fun.

Se22newmum- I don't know much about train links ,but the boxing gym is right by east dulwich station. Also 176 bus stops just outside from penge/Sydenham.

Zoe webster [email protected] has been training my mum for about 20 years and is a great teacher and very friendly. I have been to a few of her sessions and she tailors them well to the client. I think her rates are pretty reasonable. Anne Fison at Fison Fitness is also very good

If you want to get much fitter quickly I would recommend Patrice's class on Bellenden Road http://www.urbanfitandfearless.com/ It is self defence but the classes involve quite a bit of fitness training and I noticed a big difference after a few months. Also as you are learning new techniques every week the classes are more interesting than most exercise classes and there is an incentive not to miss sessions. The first class is free (I think it still is - it was when I started) and Patrice is a friendly and talented teacher. The classes are fun and friendly and not intimidating. PM me if you want more info

    • I’m in exactly the same position.  They badgered me for ages to have a water meter fitted.  I’d prevaricated simply because it’s so tedious dealing with these people but eventually gave in when the communications became increasingly frequent and aggressive and it was done in March 2023. I just assumed I’d then be charged on actual consumption but I received an email this morning with details of the latest price increase and it said, “Since your property doesn’t have a water meter, your bill is calculated in advance based on fixed rates rather than water usage”.  I’m sure they’ve realised I’d be paying much less if they billed me on actual consumption but have not gone out of their way to inform me.  Trawling through their website, for me anyway, is an unutterably tedious chore, but I think I’ll now have to work up the energy over the weekend to pick up the phone on Monday morning and have a word with them.
    • Great Service again from Andy.  Contacted him with a couple of issues with toilet cistern and shower.  He came over and sorted it all out quickly. Good advice given, reasonable charge for the jobs.  Highly recommend Andy!
    • Just seen this.  Your post was a bit unnecessary.  I was simply responding to the previous post that children should be cycling on the pavement. But as you say I know shed loads about transport.  Not to the depths that some go down to the minutia.  Some call me the space cowboy.  Some call me the gangster of love.  I think of myself as the people's poet.  You have to laugh at yourself. Echoing what DKH said, we weren't there, you don't know the parent was making a snide remark, My favourite Dulwich parent story was a few years ago were friends when we were in the Herne garden a few years ago, who let their children run riot.  Bless.  One decided to turn the hose on spraying some poor drinkers.  Now most of us would be mortified, but the friends welcomed their child's creativity.
