geneverve
Does anyone know the best way to get to the Vue in Greenwich without the Jubilee? Got preview tickets for tomorrow morning and TFL seems to think it'll take an hour and a half! nunheadbelle
484 from East Dulwich to Lewisham High Street and then 108 to Greenwich looks like the best option. Here is the route on TFL: ED to Greenwich Vue and if you click on the interactive map, it shows you the journey. flapjackdavey
any bus to Peckham , then a 177 ... that would be my choice . Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/7843-getting-to-greenwich/#findComment-244686 Share on other sites
lorraineliyanage
The 177 would definitely take an hour or more in traffic. I used to regularly do that route to Woolwich and it was an hour and a half door to door from ED via Peckham (2 busses) Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/7843-getting-to-greenwich/#findComment-244715 Share on other sites
clux
or you can avoid buses altogether and get the train to london bridge and then another train out to greenwich Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/7843-getting-to-greenwich/#findComment-244716 Share on other sites
JohnL
or even the DLR (didn't see it in the avoid list)Theres a train sometimes from Peckham Rye to Lewisham and various bus routes to Deptford Bridge. Penguin68
At the moment road traffic trough Greenwich itself, i.e around the Market, down past the Maritime Museum (Romney Road) is diabolical as gas mains are being replaced - often big hold-ups - right now I would chose a route that avoids roads that go through the centre of Greenwich if you can. Jeremy
clux Wrote:-------------------------------------------------------> or you can avoid buses altogether and get the> train to london bridge and then another train out> to greenwichIf this is the one in the O2, then Greenwich station is miles away. Westcombe Park station is closer. Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/7843-getting-to-greenwich/#findComment-244822 Share on other sites

sophiesofa
geneverve how did you do it? I would have gone for the train then jubillee option because it comes out right in the o2 closely followed by train to london bridge then maze hill/charlton. I've tried a bus to lewisham then dlr to cutty sark before (for greenwich centre not the o2) and will not try that one again, it took forever. Keef
Jubilee was fine when I used it this morning. It wasn't bloody fine last Friday, when it took me 3 hours to get to work!!!!!!! geneverve
thanks for all the replies. Unfortunately in the end we couldn't be bothered to deal with the journey to see a film at half ten on a sunday morning! Pandora
Any tips on the best way by bike? I'm starting work near Deptford Creek soon and I'm experimenting with different cycle routes, they all seem to involve busy roads or large hills! Keef
The quietest (not quickets) way, would be to go along by Brenchley Gardens, on to St Norbert Road, in to Brockley, up to Wickham Road, cross Lewisham Way, and go down Friendly Street, turn left at the bottom, and you come out at the big junction by Deptford Bridge DLR. DrDom
I know this is a little late, but the fastest and best way to Greenwich.Train from ED to london Brdge. Boat up River to Greenwich, takes 40 mins if you time it right. Keef
By the way, the route I mention above is pretty flat, once you get Forest Hill Road out the way.
