"I'm sure you could control yourself if you put your mind to it."

Not likely.

I think that the drawing room will survive but it wont flourish at the rate it's creators may have hoped. This is because, as Keef stated, contributors want to come across as knowledgable about the subject they debating. There's nothing wrong with that because it is a place where facts and sources are going to be expexted. This is where the growth of the drawing room will be stunted.

These facts and figures will have to sought out either on the internet or through other means and on many occasions when a contributor has their case in order with all their sources at hand they'll find that the arguement/discussion has moved on from where they were going to pick up. They may then see no point in carrying on where they left off because they may be afraid of being shouted down by those who see the old point/case as irrelevant to what is being discuused and could acuse others of backtracking or swaying the arguement in their favour.

I don't really object to other forum members wanting a decent discussion and I don't really mind being excluded from it either as I come on here for humour. I'm constantly pissing about so I wouldn't blame the drawing room crowd ignoring me either. I see it as dull and want no part in it.

The lounge is where it's all at.

Where its NOT "all at" is consistently spelling "arguement" with an "e" that does not exist.

The verb is, obviously, to "argue" but the "e" is dropped when it comes to using the word: argument.

p.s. Can you reproduce your comment about my male appendage as the Subject interests me.

Although I'm often viciously rude and cheeky towards you Tony I wonder what path my grammar would take without your guiding wisdom.

I don't think that would be wise after today's carry on.

Another time perhaps.

BBW other than the clowns thing that got deleted, you and mick find anywhere where I've got away with anything in the Drawing Room? The difference between you and I is that I know where to be an arse and where to play it straight and you don't....watch and learn pinhead....Mick's just joining in 'cos his betting's going seriously down hill since he started the betting thread

Nice work Tone. I assume you look younger than your tender years to be capable of entertaining girls in their 30s?

More like act younger Mick.:)

Truth is I met all of Ladies I see now around 10/12 years ago when I DID look much younger and a few of them have stayed good friends since then and the main "3" are all exactly 30 years old, by co-incidence..

Though the Ladyfriend who is staying with me ( for the 3rd time) told me tonight that I have grown up since she first met me 6 years ago and, sadly, she's right::o

Have to say that I have no emotional baggage though, which helps. No exs around, no marriages/divorces/kids etc..so I have lived the "single life" for a long time now.

Do you use the Lynx Bullet, Tony?

    • Thank you for the detailed advise @trinidad It is definitely damage we are concerned about. I don’t think Evri would agree to pay the bill to fix our gate or letter box if they were to be damaged as a result of their delivery drivers helper. Our doorbell can be heard from outside when rung so we don’t quite believe the aggressive simultaneous door/letter box banging is necessary. It can be quite a shock it is done very aggressively.  I’ll definitely action the steps you’ve kindly provided along with a phone call tomorrow. I do sympathise with the role drivers have and how busy they are, which is why we tried communicating directly with her but sadly we haven’t succeeded
    • What outcome would you like? Disciplinary action? Not to have the driver back? Retraining? I know there is alot of pressure on drivers to deliver within a set day. if he slams the gate, is it evidence he is causing damage, or is the noise a irritant to yourself? You could put a sign up or buy a signing asking to close the gate gentle???? can you hear the door bell from the door? he might be ringing, not hearing and therefore knocking. In trhe notes section of the be livery page, there is a note section, although there is not 100 per cent these notes would be read as these drivers are constantly rushing.  I did a google search for you, i found this and you can try the envri website Contact Us | Evri   To complain to Evri, you can follow these steps: Contact Customer Service: Call Evri's customer service at 0330 808 5456 for assistance with your complaint.    1 Write a Letter: Address your complaint to Capitol House, 1 Capitol Close, Morley, Leeds, West Yorkshire, LS27 0WH.    1 Use the Official Website: Visit the Evri complaints page on their official website for detailed instructions on how to submit a complaint.    2 Email or Call for Specific Issues: For issues like missing or damaged parcels, you can email or call 0800 988 8888, which is free to call.    1 These methods will help you effectively communicate your concerns to Evri.   My driver is called anthony, he is brilliant to be honest. I cant fault him.
    • When I have more time and energy, I will look up the actual number of votes cast for each party in that election, rather than the number of seats won. I'm interested to see that you apparently  think that  Boris Johnson did a good job of "leading the country through Covid." Is your memory really that short? I won't stoop to calling Johnson and his cronies names in the way that you seem to think is appropriate for left wing politicians. At least the left wing politicians have some semblance of morals and a concern for people who aren't in some over privileged inner circle and/or raking in money for themselves on the back of an epidemic. I'm not going to open a can of worms on here  by commenting on the disgraceful so called "purge".
    • Can’t imagine what it must be like you have your doorbell rung harshly.
