Pub Quiz?

Hello,

I just moved back to England and I am craving a good old fashioned pub quiz. Is there a good one in East Dulwich? I'm having to travel about 45 minutes to the one I'm going to with friends tomorrow.. Walking back to Lordship Lane would be preferred!

Quite a few around I think, the Plough does one on Thursdays, they've just changed the format but was alright last time we were there.

Think the Crown & Greyhound in the village does one on Sundays too.

There's a good one in Hooper's on Ivanhoe Road. This pub is criminally underused.

There's a big quiz at The Gowlett on Monday's too, I think. Great pub but I'd give the pub a miss - it really drags on. It feels like an hour between rounds.

Seconding Ralphations recommendation:

Hoopers quiz on a Thursday, around 20:45/21:00 hrs is great fun and not too intense with very friendly atmosphere. Usual picture/music/general round format. Plus it's a nice place to have a good honest beer. It's a free house, not a pubco place, so they go out of their way to make you feel welcome. Usually open till midnight so you're not bundled out the door, either!

Does anyone know how many people go to the Hoopers Bar quiz these days? We tried to do it last year and literally nobody was in the pub. We thought we would try it out this evening as it's a decent pub. Does it get a good turnout these days?
