I saw them at Glasto 2 years ago and they packed out a tent at midday but the rumour doing the rounds was that it wasn't the original Dave but that the new Dave was also called Dave in real life and that the first Dave was deceased.

This harks back to pre mobile phone Glastos when it was like being cut off from the outside world for 3 days and rumours that someone famous had died were abundant - mainly Rolf Harris or Jimmy Saville.

Anyway I digress - so is it still the original Dave?

So I read this morning that they're splitting because Dave hasn't got over the death of his wife a few months ago, and he can't deal with the idea of touring. I think that's really sad.

(apologies for bringing a mawkish element into this)

Not sad enough, however, that "Well I've consulted the Ker-Ching" didn't make me laugh out loud....

    • Reading this sort of stuff - it's tiring. It's a weird focus on marginal English politics instead of the mainstream and instead of UK politics. How do you use 4 ex-Labour MPs getting elected an example of a supposed trend but ignore the election of 411 Labour MPs in the same election? How do you waffle on for several hundred words about the prospects of new left parties without mentioning what's been happening in this area for the last 20 years in Scotland and Wales?
    • This new movement seems great.  great ideas. But they’re just an opposition party they’re like a subsection of the Labour Party - so perfectly suited to Corbyn - his inspirational rhetoric can only be uttered in opposition.  Power would not suit him - that would require hard decisions that’s not his style, strength or skill

    • Nadia designed me the most beautiful garden taking into account my preferences but also guiding me expertly through the possibilities given I am not particularly knowledgeable about plants/ gardens - she also sourced very competent hard landscaping specialists and the result is a beautiful space which brings me a lot of joy - thank you Nadia!
