cooperach
Just wanted to post a HUGE recommendation for the Thai Duck pop up restaurant at the Duck Egg Cafe on North Cross Road. We had a take away from there this evening (menu on their Facebook page) which was delicious, you can eat in too. The lady is delightful, and the food was so tasty - enjoy! DovertheRoad
Seconded. This place is great. Menu changes each week. Fresh flavours, lovely people - worth nipping down for a takeaway or sit in and BYOB. meljohn
Making another visit to the Thai Duck again this evening - 4th time and always been great so far - best Thai restaurant in the area by far! Grainne17
I've been twice now and hard to understand why it's quiet and Thai corner cafe is so busy. The food and service in Thai duck is much better than Thai corner cafe, they even chill your wine/beer for you. Definitely recommend! MissDumpling
Finally got round to checking out Thai Duck tonight. Really delicious, ridiculously cheap, definitely the best Thai in the area. Seemed cruel that it was virtually empty while Thai Corner Cafe was heaving. They deserve to be doing really well. Please try this place out. If we don't use it, we may lose it... MissDumpling
Mustard Wrote:-------------------------------------------------------X> How many evenings are they open?Just Fridays and Saturdays. It is BYO and they didn't charge us corkage. We had sea bass and chicken wing starters, veg pad Thai, prawn green curry, pak choy and sticky rice. All for just over ?30. Can't pick a highlight because it was ALL so good... Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/84900-thai-duck-pop-up/#findComment-976032 Share on other sites
Guest
Went there last night and it is one of the more authentic thai restaurants around London. Small menu but all dishes were very good. Highly recommended. Much much better than Thai Corner Cafe.If anyone wants to try some very good thai, follow Tem Ban. Very good food and they do pop ups around London. They were recently at Brockwell Lido and Sydenham. Not sure where they are now. http://www.tembanthai.co.uk Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/84900-thai-duck-pop-up/#findComment-976203 Share on other sites
*Bob*
Reasonably priced and very decent. Deserves to do well in in the face of other (humdrum) local competition. MissDumpling
Had another cracking meal here on Friday with a group of friends. Everyone was full of praise for the delicious food, and just amazed at the price. So pleased to see it was full and loved the buzzy atmosphere.. mrs.lotte
Went last night, service was lovely and food delicious. A bargainIt wasn't very busy - presumably because people just don't know about it so spread the word (as a previous poster said - use it or lose it) Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/84900-thai-duck-pop-up/#findComment-978974 Share on other sites

Food was soo good and was really reasonable, Our bills came to ?17 each, the no charge for corkage was a bonus, Portions were good, we could have ordered less, but wanted to try most of the menu. :) Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/84900-thai-duck-pop-up/#findComment-982589 Share on other sites
