Angelina
one suggestion would be to try transport for london journay planner (type it in to google)- you can choose the mode of transport - if there is no option for a car, choose a bus and it would highlight any traffic diversions. mancity68
Think they're due to be finishing the evil roadworks that are stopping E & C from being a roundabout and going to two way traffic. DovertheRoad
Warning - traffic heading towards Elephant from Camberwell / Dulwich was extremely congested this morning because of the work KalamityKel mentions above...and that was at 7am. Hopefully these problems will only temporary whilst work to remove the northern roundabout continues. These are major structural changes to this route in for all road users. ruffers
Yup, OKR solid as far as Tesco. So solid I'm on a motorbike and ended up taking a diversion. PhilPhilPhil
I might be able to find out from the TFL site but was the E&C area supposed to be working properly under the new scheme today, or have we just entered another stage of the hellish and seemingly never-ending rebuilding? This morning the traffic down Walworth Road was the worst its been in ages and if anything the bit near E&C station looked further from completion than it did last week. Coupled with traffic tailback from Camberwell to Peckham (seemingly caused by something on the other side of Camberwell, heading towards Oval) the 12 bus from Dulwich to Piccadilly Circus took 2 hours this morning. Earl Aelfheah
Guess this is the new 'steady state' of things at Elephant. Personally, I think it's good that they've sealed off South London. With no tube, buses, or car transport, we are one step closer to declaring independence from the rest of the Capital. bobbsy
Echoing above, was absolutely solid almost back to Camberwell this morning when I passed through. The have opened the intersection to two way traffic, with temporary traffic lights that seems to be on very long intervals. At this stage, I really can't see how traffic will flow through the new design.
