womanofdulwich
I was not induced but pretty close to it. MY little bundle was due 14th dec but came 29th dec. When you are that late they like to scan you every other day - but luckily I avoided xmas day and boxing day. I did try to find some alternative help on about 21st dec, but no homeopaths/ acupuncturists to be found in SE London by then - all off on holiday. My Mum was at least a week late with my brother and I.If you want to stay "active " in labour I would stay at home as long as you can- otherwise you can deliver yourself up to the maternity ward and ask for whatever pain relief they can give you!I think some people feel more comfortable in their own home and can take more pain, but once you are in hospital it can be bard to assert yourself with the nursing staff- but some people feel more comfortable and relaxed being in hospital. There is always gas and air/ TENs machines. Good luck. You will almost certainly have a stubborn ( can't remember the star sign name )child who will find their way in the world and nothing will stop them ( my observations to date). lorraineliyanage
If I have another baby, I'm going to tell people that the baby is due at least a month after the due date to avoid all the annoying phone calls that I got last time when over 2 weeks late.Heidi - know what you mean about the flaky skin, my baby was all scaly and my placenta was all gritty and shrivelled up, bleurgh! Dulwich Born And Bred
Lorraine,I agree with telling people a different later due date. I was so annoyed with the constant " Is the baby not here yet?" it got on my nerves! I think also for my peace of mind I would tell myself to expect the baby to come later also, as I was so disappointed and frustrated when my due date came and went...I was pregnant for 10 months..not nine!I never got to see my afterbirth, I wanted to donate it to the Nolan Trust but alas it broke inside me, quite disappointing as my mum wanted to cut the cord also, but then it probably would have been all gritty and shrivelled up too!
