The people at Emilys on Northcross are nice and friendly and down to earth. My problem is that alot of the times the food is too oily and also they lick their fingers when wrapping up the food.Maybe Ive just been unlucky in there. I use Britannia across from the cpt .

Yep, Britannia is great.(tu) They also own the kebab shop next door to their fish and chip shop.

I heard the same on the "grapevine". the owner confirmed it when i was in there recently - the idea, if i understood him rightly, was to have a pie'n'mash restaurant through the back.

I've just finished stuffing my face with fish and chips from Emily's - lovely!

I asked about pie and mash, they are hoping to get the restaurant open shortly. They will be serving fish and chips first and are waiting for some equipment before they can do pie and mash. The owner says it might be the new year until they are ready with the pie and mash.

If you are pining for pie and mash go to Manze's on the corner of Peckham Park Road and Peckham High Street. Been in the biz for umpteen years. [personally I think it's disgusting, but horses for course]

ARMENTS down the Walworth Road are the best for pie and mash. But will be great when Emilys have it!!! So much nearer!
