Kwik-fit on grove vale, any good?

Kwik-fit has been on watch dog more than once over the last few years, especially for charging for repairs not completed. Has anyone had any experience on the Kwik-fit on grove Vale SE22?

They did a good job on my tyres. However I took my old car in last year to check if it needed a new battery. Kwik fit told me it did need a new battery and replaced it.. turned out I didn't need a battery at all and I actually had an electrical problem. They had a 'vauxhall specialist' in that day who "had a look" and made the problem a million times worse - my car started stalling when in traffic. Kwik-fit denied responsibility. Took it to Vauxhall and turned out they missed that my clutch had slipped and had rewired the car incorrectly! So I paid for a battery I didn't need. They kindly didn't charge me for the bodged rewiring.

So to sum up - tyres, yes. Anything else, no.

I've used them. expensive until you realize you can pay for it online first to get a decent price then select this branch at checkout.

I've always found Kwik Fit to be pretty good. The branch in question though has very limited parking and is tight to maneuver in and out. The branch on Walworth Road near Elephant and Castle is a little easier to approach.

I've always found them quick, efficient and friendly, and very convenient if you suddenly discover you have a flat.

If you want a national chain, go for Halfords in Sydenham. Noticeably cheaper, especially when booking online and staff that don't make you feel like an idiot when you don't understand something.

Found them decent for tyres, providing you buy/book online - otherwise the price at the workshop is expensive.

Dreadful I wouldn't risk it. Recently hubby booked for morning servicing returned at midday hadn't even touched the car no apologies or explanation given just told to return later which then coincided with schoolrun. Another time they did some work on our VW and replaced the screws which held the panel underneath front of car with wooden dowds! I phoned them to query this thinking they did this by mistake the reply was "well we'll have to order the screws as they are VW originals". Clearly shows they would have got away with it if they could. Bunch of cowboys!

I had no problems with my service there. I had an MOT and service at the same time and was happy with it.

They serve well in emergencies, apparently they have a Monday club for flat tyres. "Flat tyres occur more on a Sunday night, then any other time"

You learn something new everyday.Left them my car, and was told I needed 2 new tyres. AA did not say anything re the other tyre on the previous evening, I questioned it, they quoted the price, I fainted. Then by the time I picked my car up, the price had dropped????

Have discovered a quick fit near me in Beckenham, will be using them in future.
