Ginger is a word that has been pretty much dropped from popular vocabulary - my daughther has bright orange (ginger) hair and all she ever hears is "haven't you got lovely hair" so I reckon the ginger correction has gone so far the other way she might not have to deal with much "gingerism".

Anyway as far as she is concerned her hair is orange and its a brave man who would tell her different.

Sadly it's the other girls that will point it out, you know the blonde sl*gs, when she gets to secondary school 'an all that

Oh, they are cows for it

W**F

I work with a girl who has stunning ginger hair. When she first joined, after about 2 weeks of calling her by her proper name and not getting much of a response she confessed that all her mates just call her Ginge.

We did the "we could never call you that" but she insisted. So now we all do and its dead funny when you forget and do it infront of clients.

Thats what i was getting at. The G word is the latest word you cant use. In all honesty i have only heard it used a couple of times in our daughters 4 years.

Another example of gingerism with affection: I read a lovely story recently about some teenage boys running a charity relay after one of them recovered from cancer. His friend suggested they call themselves 'Team Jaffa Cake' because although he'd lost his ginger hair he was still orange on the inside.

first we had the 'blond' jokes, then the 'ginger'.... I'm keeping my head down as looks like it will be brunettes next...

mind you I've always thought brunettes are the foxiest...http://photo.missbimbo.com/1/425/moy/339441.jpg happy christmas boys!

    • Possibly a little specialist (and the ultimate eventual clothes horse unless you're into fitness!) but we have the Pivot: PIVOT | Ultimate Space-Saving Bed & Home Gym Solution It's a full weight Olympic squat rack which pulls down from the wall into a double/king bed. When we bought it as a Kickstarter project it was less expensive than a murphy bed from places like the Wall Bed Company, though this may no longer be the case. Super easy to put together ourselves.
    • The skatepark has been a great use of a derelict site, but surely the point is that that site should not have been allowed (and should not continue to be allowed) to have become derelict in the first place. As someone who couldn't live much closer to the Grove Tavern, I would welcome any redevelopment efforts. The current state of the pub is untenable, wasteful and ultimately an embarrassment for the local area.  The concerns mentioned about young people and the lack of public space for them to spend time are totally valid. And I agree, its very inspiring that a group of teenagers have built the skate park and created something out of nothing. But that shouldn't prevent the site being turned into something that is of utility to the whole community - whether that be housing, supermarkets or a pub/restaurant.
