Calling all cyclists

Looking for some good routes from South London and in a loop for around 40 miles and taking in some scenery of sorts so a bit of Thames, maybe Greenwich and beyond.

Done bits of Regent Canal to death as well as going west along the Thames so heading eastish...

Finding all sorts of rubbish on Mapmyride etc but any routes that anyone would recommend?

you can follow the thames path quite a long way from greenwich. it's a bit industrial, and smelly in places, but traffic free and flat, and you see a different side of the city.

i'm helping to organise a charity ride that way: Great Expectations in a few weeks if you'd like to join us...

There isn't much of a path after the Thames Barrier but you can pick it up just after and carry on to the Woolwich Ferry which is free to cross. It's pretty industrial up that way, not terribly scenic and lots of scrap yards and recycling dumps block any access to the Thames (watch out for your tyres). If you want scenery best head away from the Thames at that point either into Esses or Kent. If I cycle that way I either head towards the enormous Dagenham plant and beyond or up towards Hackney and Victoria Park and then there are various routes back home to Dulwich.

    • Sue, Sue, Sue Yes the bus stop at what was The Kings Arms I believe remains closed,  However the stops at the Heaton Arms (no youngster here) is open. Easiest way is a 63 or 363 to Peckham Hill street and change for the 78 which takes you directly to the front door or as good as.
    • I need to go to Asda in the Old Kent Road tomorrow. Theoretically I can get a 78 or 363 bus, but it looks as if the bus stop at East Dulwich Road/Peckham Rye may be closed. I don't know why, but I assume it may be due to gas or water works. Does anybody know if it is just this bus stop, or are other bus stops (or the routes) affected?  I don't want to get a nasty surprise tomorrow, as I have an appointment, so it's time critical.
    • Hi, Have you tried reaching out to breed-specific rescue groups or shelters? Sadly, Cavapoos are one of the most exploited breeds in the UK due to their popularity, so due diligence is crucial. Cavapoos do occasionally pop up for adoption, especially puppies. TWB x
