May I suggest rah that you consider overnight flexible cushioning around the plate edges to cushion any unwanted attention from other drivers. Not sure if it's legal but I've considered it myself before. The problem is we have more cars and fewer spaces and people will literally try and cram an estate into a space barely big enough for a smart car.

I've got a US shipping address, if you wanted to order anything I'm happy for it to go to my US mail box but then you'd have to pay the shipping and import duties on top....

I guess this is the problem with the parking issue here, as every man estimates his as 12 inches and tells his lady such, but in reality it's 6 or less, so when he then tries to park a car his depth perception says he has 12 inches between bumpers but it's really only 6 between, he then drives those 12 inches and bang there's the fender blender (as the yanks say)

What more can I say 😳

They say size doesn't matter dear Seabag, but a big fat black one must be ever so pleasing when it comes up throbbing with all that power from behind

    • You could try asking  ChatGPT? Give it the information you have posted here, and ask for suggestions in your preferred geographical areas (eg South and Central London, or whatever). It recently saved me hours when I was looking to see if there was a cheaper  energy tariff for my usage, and it  gave me other very useful relevant  information. I've also used it for several other things, and it has been eye openingly helpful. • Yes it would be easier, and I give a lot to the hospice shops, but for various reasons there are certain things I prefer to give to Oxfam. However I might go through the books and see if some could be donated more locally. I think in any charity shop staffed by volunteers, the reception you get must depend on the member of staff. The Oxfam bookshop have always been very happy when I've taken shedloads of books there in the past. On the other hand, I've taken things to the hospice shop that were received very grumpily when they hadn't even looked in the bag or asked what they were. It felt like I was being a nuisance and causing them more work. I don't remember a previous thread on here  about the Oxfam shop and parking, but that's possibly because it wasn't relevant to me at the time.
