Question. Has the social media experiment failed ?

Most of the time it is not social.

Most of the time it is not media in the traditional sense.

Children can feel peer pressure because of it. (as can adults.)

Does it enrich or blight our lives ?

You can hire tools from the Library of Things. They offer Concession Membership. Worth looking at if you need a tool they have but won’t use one enough to justify buying one.

Although Southwark Council have been running this for a year I’ve only just seen it. Thought it might be of interest

Went to book a film to find Surrey Quays Odeon is no more. Such a shame, I didn't realise everything was being  shut there. Used to love a bit of bowling at the Hollywood Bowl too.

I think these articles just pick places at random, or on a rota,  as their lists seem to be constantly changing 🤣

Oh! Just noticed this article is based on ONE person's opinion - a blogger 🤣

Hello. I'm wondering if people have recommendations for good African restaurants in East Dulwich and the surrounding areas (such as Peckham)?

I'm sure there must be many. Any tips would be appreciated.

We live in East Dulwich and are keen to find a good one.

Thank you!

Does anyone know how to contact Glazer Delmar solicitors as the number on the windows doesn’t work? They have an important document belonging to a neighbour?

Metropolitan Police have placed two signs at the junction of Gallery Rd/Burbage Rd/Dulwich Village calling for witnesses. I suppose if you were there at the time, it would be obvious what they are referring to, and if you weren't (like me), they don't need to hear from you!

As you may know, PECAN operates Southwark Foodbank, a food bank that serves and relies upon all of Southwark, including East Dulwich. They help hundreds of vulnerable people a month with fresh and stable food, basic hygiene necessities and other support. The level of need that exists in our community is unbelievable and PECAN’s work is literally a lifeline for some people.

unfortunately they need our help now more than ever. As they explained last night:

This Monday wasn’t a great start for us, as we had a break in at our Southwark Foodbank warehouse over the weekend. Unfortunately, large quantities of food, hygiene products, and a laptop were stolen. Sadly, the door and shutter were also damaged, leaving us with costly repairs. Now, our food stock is running low, and we are also faced with unexpected repair expenses. This situation tells us it is a challenging time for many.
Therefore, we need your help and any support you can offer, whether through donations or other means, as it will make a difference to those who rely on us.

Anyone know why the trees in Crystal Palace Road are coming down? I couldn't find anything on the Council website but had thought it was a conservation area, and the wildlife used the trees a lot.

I have an actual leaseholder service charge bill of £12,000 from Southwark council . I find this shocking , Does anyone else have such high bill and if so how did they deal with this ?

With such high service charge bill will be difficult to have a 3 square meal a day. Thinking of contesting this as the bulk of the cost is the heating and lighting of the estate.

Lordship Lane pavement on a rainy day is a disgrace
When is the Council going to improve the pavement on Lordship Lane? Does anyone know who we can talk to in the Council to request it? It is almost impossible to walk on it on a rainy day! The Council has three people walking around handing out tickets, plus another one on a motorbike and another in a car parked opposite the Neighbourhood vet every morning - It would be great to see some of the money they make invested on Lordship Lane! #southwarkcouncil

Why is mobile coverage so bad in and around Dulwich Village?
Does anyone know who blocks the attempts of mobile companies to provide decent coverage - so frustrating for anyone who lives, works or visits the area that it is a mobile deadspot.
