  1. Wasn't Gary Neville once known for his long throw in? And some guy at Tranmere a few years back, it's not a new thing, and it works. I'd bloody well use it. Frankly, wishing relegation on a team is pure sour grapes because they made you look a bit silly when your team couldn't beat them (not to anyone in particular). The only teams I wish relegation on, are teams managed by Big Sam or Neil Warnock.
  2. I already knew mine, "You're the one that I want" from Greese. It was actually at number 1 for a couple of months, which is surprising. You must be a week or two younger than my missus, she had Slade "Coz I love you", and missed Ernie by 2 days! I am jealous of Fear N' Boozin, who was a few months earlier than me, and had Wuthering Heights, which I think is cool. Also, had I been a month earlier, I'd have had "Rivers of Babylon / Brown girl in the ring", which my sister used to love as a kid! I used to have a girlfirend who was very put out that she was born on the day that Woman by John Lennon was knocked off top spot by Joe Dolce's Shaddap you face!
  3. Marmora Man, am I not right in saying that you're against all the CCTV, cameras going up and invading our privacy? If so, then I'm surprised you're so supportive of this lady. I initially wanted to get behind the whole thing, but then hearing about the filming of patients without consent, I suddenly lost some sympathy, even if it was for a "greater good". Wouldn't some argue that keeping the streets safe is a greater good, over your personal right to privicy?

In seriousness, I was impressed by your manifesto.
  5. ... and if you're a nun, you soon will be! In all seriousness, I meant to check, is Ayres still open? Unfortunately their branch in Penge closed down, I was hoping the original shop had survived.
  6. Well summed up. She is a horrific human being! You're right about James too, but he does make me laugh. Had the other team gone, I think it may have finally been curtains for that weirdo Lorraine. She would genuinely freak me out I think.
  7. I'd vote Moos!
  8. I believe that if that sort of time wasting is going on, it's up to refs to have a word, and book him if need be. Otherwise, he is safely acting within the rules of the game! I'm sure it wasn't pretty, and frankly I wouldn't go near it (and told you at the time Anna that you were a mentalist of the highest order), but they are not there to entertain you, this is the problem. Yes football is huge, it's all over the TV, and people want excitement. BUT, the manager and players of ANY side want results first, and "sexy football" second! Plus, think how great it must be for their fans, I'm sure they found that game against Liverpool a hell of a lot more entertaining than you guys did.

Whilst it is undoubtedly frustrating, I am of the opinion that a good team should be able to find a way to beat these tactics. Basically Stoke have done what they needed to do, good on them. Think I've used this analogy before, but if I was a boxer up against the best technical fighter around, I am going to try everything I can to stop him beating me, and if that means an ugly fight where I hold on to him, then so be it. Why? Because I am interested in my record, and my future, and couldn't give a toss about that great fighter. Once I get the experience of the big fights, I may start to box a bit more pretty...
  10. I'm with you santerme.
  11. I'm with Piers, Stoke have done well and good on them! They play to their strengths, and I'm sure their fans find it entertaining enough. I really feel for Hull, and would like them to scrape out of it, but Newcastle are looking favourites for that now... Thing is, if the toon survive, what is going to different next season, or will it be the same thing again?
  12. It doesn't exist in real time and space, it's a portal between ED, Peckham, Honor Oak, New Cross, and Brockley. It's something you pass through when travelling to these places.
  13. That looks bloody great, in a really really rubbish way! I've not seen Snakes on a plane, but this one I could imagine myself getting from Lovefilm, and enjoying with a big joint!
  14. Believe me, I have looked at ED, and it is in most ways lots better than Woolwich, which is a place I generally don't like, having worked there for 7 years. However, East Dulwich is not a beautiful area, however much it might make you feel good about yourself, to claim it is. It is a nice area made up of victorian terraces, with some grim 20th century buildings thrown in. Woolwich does have a great waterfront, recently done up. It has all the old military buildings and grounds, horrid as it may be, it has more interesting and attractive stuff to look at than ED. However, if some bloke on the radio disagrees, then I must be wrong.
  15. Allfornun doesn't live in, or much like the area, so seems the natural choice. Of course, there would have to be a claim for a second home.
  16. Come in my back door, and rob my house? Christ your area sounds rough!
  17. To be fair, Heinze was good back then. Personally, I think Liverpool could do a lot worse, but he'd have the same problem getting in to the first team, unless Gerrard changed position a bit. Don't think it will happen anyway.
  18. Do you know what AFN, they probably won't open a pound stretcher. You're right, this is a serious thread, and I shouldn't be taking it all lightly.

Really made me chuckle, good work.

It's a very nice area, with lots of good things about it, but beautiful it isn't.
  21. Sherwick Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > I hope you're not comparing the beautiful East Dulwich to Woolwich... Well, no I wasn't. But since you mention it, I wouldn't call ED "beautiful" at all, whilst Woolwich has a great waterfront, and some amazing old buildings. Guessing your tongue was in your cheek though.
  22. There is an M&S in Woolwich, so not always in the best areas. That said, there are lots of council workers there needing lunch, so guess it makes sense.
  23. Was there a "Scrummy Cakes" stall selling cookies and cakes? An old school friend of mine set up a little business, and said a while ago she was going to be at a fair in Dulwich. Unfortunately I couldn't make it yesterday.
  24. I used to love the Peddlos (sp?) Suspect it's something to do with Health & Safety.
  25. I hear they're opening a new Pound Stretcher on Nunhead Lane.
