  1. Good, and honest points being made here. At the end of the day, if someone said I generally don't find black girls attractive, that is not racist. They may also say I don't fancy brunettes either, but I love Asian girls... It's just about what one person finds pleasing on the eye I guess. The original train comment could be called racist, because effectively he/they were suggesting that as a race, black girls are not pretty, and the "for a black girl" bit suggests that a half decent white girl would still be a better choice. I do agree with Jeremy however that it was more rude and sexist than anything else. You just wonder why they would think it was acceptable to make that kind of comment on a train. I don't really believe in "types". I used to think my type was definitely brunette, and have married a blue eyed blond, via various hair and skin shades along the way to finding her. I have fancied them all for one reason or another. One could argue that at the end of the day, it's just because we smelled right to each other!
  2. I actually agree with NatashaD & Peckhamboy here. I am all for the wellfare state, but come on!!!! Also, the abuse of disability benefits is a huge problem, work dodging pikey feckers! (normally I wouldn't come over that strong, but on that particular issue, I have issues!)

Fair play citizen, I was searching ages for that!
  6. I considered sleeping my way to the top, but it looks like they have to do some work up there, so I decided I'm better off just sleeping down here.
  7. Aren't you all really lucky, well done!

My skin, my mixture and I like the term 'Mixed Race'. I don't actually find it comfortable to say 'Dual Heritage' And as you've already said, you're part Jamaican, Dutch, Greek and English, so the term DUAL heritage is actually completely incorrect.
  9. Aggghhhhhhhhhh!!!!!! This is reminding me of RS A Level! (although that was on John's Gespel)

Yeah, but every dog has it's day. I still don't think that anyone is at the level of Federer / Nedal just yet... Then again, there are a couple of interesting young guys making big strides forward...
  11. Do we have a date, are we sticking to first weekends? I guess I'd go Gowlett, just because I don't get down there often.
  12. to work on time. Ever! RE Kickers, I am a big fan, and well over 10! Don't know if mine are "boots" though, and they are most certainly not red! :-$
  13. BN5, as a huge G N'R fan, I tip my hat to you sir! Eva Cassidy doing Kathy's song by Simon & Garfunkle, and Alanis Morissette doing King of pain by The Police (or was it just Sting) on her old unplugged album was very good.
  14. I won't promise, but if I'm not on a stag do or at a wedding, I shall probably turn up...

I only saw the last bit after the short rain break, but wow! Both of them were just playing out of their skins... I did think Federer was starting to look tired, but then again, I thought Nedal would never break him after 2 games were he was 2 points up on Federer's serve! The only shame is that there is no one who could stand with these 2, or frankly anywhere near at the moment! Bloody well done to Laura Robson, although as Virginia Wade says, I hope the press just leave the girl alone to get one with it! I believe that this win has earnt her a wild card in to next years seniors.
  16. Because Kel, although we may gasp and say how bad it is if we witnessed someone being called "n****r", or"f****t", we don't actually feel the sting of someone saying that to us if we are not black or gay, or indeed both. However, I still think people can empathise. It may not have been racial or sexual slurs, but people can still be on the receiving end of some very hateful, and extreamely hurtful comments about all manner of other stuff.
  17. Exactly what Jeremy said!!! Whether or not we all want the same things, it takes 10 minutes to walk from the mag to goose green, and in that space, you have 2 cocktail bars, with a third to open soon, 2 posh foody type pubs, 2 busy pubs (Bish & EDT), so whynot something slightly different.
  18. Was listening to radio this morning, and some bloke was saying he reckoned the market will drop at least 20-25% from it's peak last year, and maybe up to a third... Flats I've looked at don't seem to be shifting off the market either, and people do seem to be slicing chunks off of asking prices. At the end of the day though, no one but the most desperate are going to take a 25-33% loss, so you can see it grinding to a halt a bit. Who are the winners... the bloody landlords charging high rent whilst the housing market sits still! (6)
  19. Best of luck wherever you end up mate, was good getting the music going, and frankly it was clear you were the brains of the opperation! And thanks again for the Woodford Reserve!!! :)-D
  20. So if Brendan is away first 2 weeks in Sept, we're looking at either 21st (Sunday), or 27th/28th September...
  21. Fair enough Citizen. Brendan I agree that we should do nets. Dems' team practise there on Wednesday evenings, are a very friendly lot, and would probably be happy for us to join them... Another firend Nathan (formerly of the CPT, brother to Candice) also plays with Dems' team, and is a bit of a handy allrounder (leaning towards bowling I think), and he's up for it. Piers, do you have any contact details?
  22. So Steve likes the ladies then! ;-)
  23. Barry transfer saga Phil McNulty's take on it. Have to say I agree with most of what he says, except that Alonso is over rated, how very dare he! I think I would chose Barry if I had to chose one. Just think he's got something different to offer us.
  24. I definitely won't be along. Have a good one! :)-D
  25. One last try... Is anyone up for a rematch sometime towards the end of the season??? I have 4 including me (others from outside the forum, including Dems). Piers has said he could do September... Brendan, David, Citizen??? Come on, there is surely a score to settle! Dems said to me just the other day he still doesn't feel quite right about how quickly they seemed to rack up 65 runs.... Who has any contact details for the other team?
