  1. *bob* you're not wrong, but it is great telly! I loved when Margret said "well Edinburgh isn't what it used to be", cracked me up! Glad those 2 went, although I hope it doesn't get dull now the 2 biggest bitches have gone. Nice to see that Micheal singled out Sara for praise, closely followed by Lucinda!

Barry is a great player and it would be great to have another Englishman in the squad. That said, if we want to challenge for the Premiership next season, we'll have to buy big and I'm therefore uncertain if Barry is the man for the job. I personally think it would be a great partnership of Barry & Mascher in the middle, with Stevie G playing behind Torres! As you say Barry is a great player, and he hasn't exactly been in the best team. Man U bought Carrick, and I was a bit sceptical (no offence to Spurs), but he has become a big player for a very good team!
  3. Academic standards shouldn't be anywhere near the most important thing when considering a primary school (in my humble opinion).
  4. Anna what do you think of Liverpool going for Barry? If his and Stevie G's partnerships for England in some recent games are anything to go by, I think it could be a briliant buy!
  5. It's whether they can convince him to stay rather than whether they decide to sell him... Maybe with this signing, and a couple more over the summer he will decide that they are showing the right kind of ambition... But the boy will want Champs League footy, and I think he might only give it one more season before cutting his losses (should Spurs not make it). I hope they do well next season, they are always a good team to watch!
  6. I read in the paper that he was calling this episode a cult classic in the making, and I saw him on telly this morning, and he said it was in his opinion the best episode in 4 series! He said "you couldn't make it up"!!! Can't wait! The "you're fired" show should be a good one too...
  7. I thought it was around ?24m, but maybe the Garcia thing brought it down to 20... Either way, he's worth it! Jah this new lad you've signed looks like a quality player!
  8. Try this link, I got to the site.
  9. Liverpool Transfer records Not sure if the figures are spot on, as I thought we spent a bit more than that on Torres, but the point I wanted to make was that until this season, our record spend was ?14m on Cisse (oh dear), which is peanuts compared to the sort of money Man U and Chelsea have spent. Would have to actually call Torres a bargain at that price too, when you look at the fees the top world players (of which I definitely think he is one) are going for.
  10. I suspect I have spent more hours hungover at my desk than not.
  11. I like the 24 WORKING HOURS bit... Basically, 3.5 days.
  12. I'd be up for nets on Saturday.
  13. I think another season will tell, he has undoubtedly been disappointing overall, but think he has started showing what he can do, and think he will be a different player next season. To be fair Atila, you pretty much said that Torres was shite because he was a bit anonymous against you in the first leg of the CL QF, but you can't base an opinion of a player on one or two games. I remember Gerrard being probably the worst player on the pitch in a game against Charlton at the Valley, but thankfully it was an off day.

    Quiet room...

*Slaps DM's perfectly toned buttock as she walks past, knowing that despite the glare, she is swooning inside* *Takes glass from DM, and lift lid on large silver platter of cheeses, salamis, olives, and stuffed peppers* *Stands by fireplace and pats labrador on the head, before taking a long pull on new pipe*
  15. Most people joining a new league don't have their best season first time around, and Ballack is quality. I think he will do lots better next season... Just imagine how good Torres is going to be when he settles in ;-)
  16. I actually agree Atila, but I think there is only so long before Arsenal will have to start paying more to keep up there. Bringing the young ones through is an obvious talent of Wenger's, but I think he needs to invest in some more experience, and a bigger squad to avoid the burnout that undoubtedly hindered such a promising season this time round.
  17. Indeed Kel, I've not had the pleasure... I shall try and be more sociable on Friday.
  18. Moos and I have been to 2 of the same drinks at least, but for whatever reason (most likely my rubbishness and smoking habits) we've not properly met, just a fleeting hello I think.
  19. Yep, swimmers are still swimming ;-)
  20. As someone who works in the disability field, I still wouldn't really use it as a pro for these buses, as in reality, you don't see that many wheelchair users at the bus stops, and I have certainly never seen a person in a wheelchair left at a bus stop due to lack of access. Prams are another matter, and for that reason, I guess they get a tick, but I still think they are horrific things. I have never used them to travel to work in central London, I used to catch the 12 to Peckham, then the 436 to New Cross, and I found it a horrid horrid journey, even more so (for some reason) coming back to Peckham from New Cross. Give me a double decker any day! david_carnell Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Are they really so divisive? It would seem so ;-)
  21. That is true Citizen, imagine if all the kids that Arsenal highjack from other teams (with more attractive offers) at 15-17 decide to leave when they're 25 (for teams with more attractive offers)... ;-)

  23. I shall be there, but can't say when or how long for... Moos, I shall seek you out and make a point of saying a proper hello! :)-D
  24. Brendan Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > The bit I heard on Jools Onland sounded a lot heavier than the old one. Ha, I remember going down to Bristol a fews ago for a small festival being headlined by Robert Plant. He played some new shite that no one was interested in, before sending the crowd mad with Whole lotta love. I remember my friend and I being impressed, as his backing band were basically the guys from Portishead, and we didn't think they had it in them (no disrespect at all to their music, I'm a fan). Perhaps the experience has influenced them somewhat... >:D<
