  1. This whole thing does worry me, Mrs Keef and I are hoping to get a fingernail on the bottom of the ladder this year... Obviously we're happy for prices to come down a bit, but then we don't want to buy something only for the whole world to collapse around our feet 6 months later... This is all far too grown up, I think I'm much more suited to sitting in the pub talking nonsense! :-S
  2. Why don't they at least put some obvious signage on the corner of Lordship Lane... There may be signage there now, but I've never noticed it if there is...
  3. Ha ha, who could you possibly be talking about ;-)
  4. That's what they tend to do witht he ipods through the speakers.
  5. From the gate, head straight down the cycle path, and they're on the right (at the other end of the path). They're in a bit of a state, but they'll do...
  6. I was pleased to see Bristol win, nothing against Palace as a club, although plenty against Warnock! I think Bristol in the Prem would be interesting, don't think they'd be a Derby...
  7. Juke Box would be great, although I usually get to go behind the bar and chose what I want on the staff ipods :)-D
  8. Vale, FH Road is a bugger for me to get home from, Vale is easy... Perhaps not the best reason, but it works for me... Plus Vale open til 2, and there will be music.
  9. Dems and I both play bass, so I'll get Dems to bring one (he "borrowed" mine about 3 years ago!!!!!!!!!!!

    Avatars

    Personally I like the idea.
  11. Hi Adam, sorry I have only just read this thread, haven't been in this bit of the forum all week. My friend Dems and I run an open mic at the Plough once a month, which is a good way to get started... We have had your usual singer songwriters, a couple of amazing solo guitarists, an awesome piano player, a blue grass group, and all sorts, so it doesn't matter what your thing is. Come along this Friday (16th) and come say hi.
  12. Absolutely agree it needed doing, but not sure I like the colour... Was struggling to focus on anything on Sunday when I saw it though.
  13. ???? Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > It's all the middle class 'youths' that get on my nerves - skulking around smoking outside pubs in skinny jeans listening to derived music that was far better 30 years ago and worshipping crack and smack addicted idiots who wear silly hats Oi, that's my dealer you're talking about, and they were only waiting outside the pub because they couldn't get served!!! Great thread Matt, it's been a while. I have noticed that every time we get one of these, the same parents will rush in to attack! Blue one made a very reasonable point way back on page 1, well done you!
  14. Oh F**k it, I can't miss this can I... Okay, if David can do it after his birthday, I have very little excuse, count me in :-S
  15. Fair enough, I knew it never had TV's when I'd been there, but haven't been in for a good few years (usually do the MP when in the area).
  16. Hey man, I've done the last 2 years :-$ I promise to try...
  17. Is it the one by the cathedral with the ship wet moored outside ratty? Market porter is opposite borough market, and definitely doesn't have tellys.
  18. I'm afraid to say I'm a real doubt. I shall do my best, but Saturday is looking manic, I have to be at this venue for 4pm, help set up / sound check, then the event starts, we finish playing at 1am, then have to wait for everyone to leave before we can get the gear out, so I will be lucky to get home by 4am, and think I will be totally knackered! So what I am saying is I am going to try, but don't count on me. Sorry.
  19. I left it a while, and in the end I went for the LG Viewty, because it looked flash :-$ Got it yesterday, and I am a bit scared of it, it's completely touch screen, but you can use your finger (although they do supply a little pen thing), and it seems to work rather well. Basically, the best 2 phones at the moment are the latest Sony camera phone, and this Viewty, both have 5mp cameras', and decent (for a mobile) flashes. I very nearly went Sony because I am a big fan, but in the end I was put off by the keypad which is really fiddly, and makes it very frustrating. The camera on the HUGE screen on the Viewty won me over, but I'm not 100% convinced I've done the right thing... Oh well, will have to get used to it... At least the texting is similar to Sony's so painless transition there.
  20. Love that song Jah! Catch me now I'm falling - The Kinks
  21. Hmm, I got home about half 4 Sunday morning, but I have now managed to change my clothes! ;-)
  22. I don't think money is really the big issue. Hanson got it right when he said last night that the top players in the world will come here to play for one of the top 4, and be in the champs league, it's as simple as that. No offence to the likes of spurs, Newcastle, Villa or Everton, but a player at Real Madrid, or Barca will look over here and say, I'm going to go to a top 4 club even if others offer the same money. 2 players have gone to Spurs for less money than Newcastle was offering them, because Spurs are more likely to get success. Top players will go to top clubs, and if a player sets the world on fire at another club, then all the top clubs will go for him... Berbatov for example.
  23. Lobsters on south beach B)
  24. I tend to go for longish (but not 3 quarter length) shorts, and t-shirts, usually with sandals, sometimes with trainers (and trainer socks). I'm a real t-shirt guy anyway, so that doesn't really change all year unless it's really really cold. I wore jumpers for about a week in the winter. I can't stand the whole blokes say topless outside the pub thing, it just puts me off my beer!
  25. I have read the forum and made up appointments.
