activity in the green and blue premises
davidh replied to davidh's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
just get over yourselves you two and others. you don't even know you are doing it. a while ago someone posted about two yobs beating someone up in the park and was foolish enough to say they had a scary dog. she got told off for calling the dog scary, never mind the guy getting beaten up. on this thread some of you are worked up about a guy buying a couple of bottles of posh wine. try just for once to stick to the point. oh, forget it! waste of time even coming on. -

how very ed forum. someone mentions wine and then he gets torrent of abuse from the usual suspects about not paying lots of money for bottles of wine. many on here are so far up themelves and/or not taking their medication at the proper time that they feel a constant need to attack. -

perhaps they didn't listen to their consultants. during the bitter weather pre-christmas their a-board advertised four salads as the lunch selection. the food at the new owners' other outlets is widely praised. -
so, it is refused again, presumably because it is the same mishmash of nonsense as before. if m&s are so keen, why don't they lead the freeholder by the hand (or nose) and guide him through the intricacies of writing a proper application? james barber says he does not know the identity of the applicant, but I am sure m&s do. james also says waitrose are wiulling to move into the site as is. better solution all round then!

I emailed terroir today and they have just responded, saying "yes, it is true. not sure when thought." must be soon, cos they are working v hard next door. oddly enough they denied it when I spoke to them today. -
what someone described as the duck pond is, in fact, a rather nice lake and home to may species including a splendid heron

louisa is probably more middle class than any of us. she is also deeply satirical, for only a moron would want burger king. -

the modern english "rumour" was something I posted, heaving been minsinformed by one of the painters. I was later told by the owner (and our new next door neighbour) that it would be a "modern" menu. presumably a new chef's take. must say, I am looking forward to finding out. -

the guy in charge said it would not be modern english... just modern cuisine with the accent on food, rather than in its last incarnation -
they are having a garage sale this morning, flogging off all the cups and saucers, etc. one of the guys working inside said a new "modern english restaurant" would open in mid april. thank goodness the place will spring back to life and not remain dark.

e-d and dulwich fox yes, of course, he/she/it can bung is many apps as they wish. doesn't alter the fact that it is all time-wasting BS. as councillor jim has stated, the apps are deeply idiotic. sure this clown could be excluded as a vexatious\ludicrous moron. james tells me he does not know this person's identity and neither it seems does anyone else. this sounds barking mad.

Proposed cycle superhighway to run down Lordship Lane
davidh replied to benmorg's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
there cannot be any sensible argument against ALL cyclists being tested and licensed, being insured and well lit after dark. discuss -
if the owner of the site persists in putting in applications that are ludicrous (such as wanting to build on land he does not own) then, of course, it will be rejected. I cannot understand why m&s do not help him put together an application that would be passed without further ado this has gone on far too long. if m&s can't or won't step in, let waitrose, who also want it, have the site. enough, already

probably the disgusting middle class mothers with baby buggies!!!

Sunday Times best place to Live - Dulwich?
davidh replied to Laur's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
you can absolutely rely on forumites to carp and complain about ward boundaries and such outrages as nice middle class ladies with babies. but sue and I are are still delighted that we moved to east dulwich nearly 26 years ago and we intend never to move away. just stop moaning and enjoy where you live. -
likely to transmogrify into a top rate restaurant, opening end of april, or so I heard today.
-
the least surprising post was from the almighty james barber who does not like the idea of 24-hours co-op shopping. he appears not to like the idea of m&s either although it is difficult to pin him down on definitive answers. barber is a councillor for a ward. he is not in any position of power, thank god. he is very good on little local issues, but for god's sake keep him away from anything big

Dancers on the Goose Green Roundabout
davidh replied to citizenED's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
the event itself was just a small group of people having a dance (and fun) for a very short while. yet this is threatening to become a thread to rival the dreaded m&s saga. please, everyone, this one must end now. -
Forest Hill Road/Colyton Road Roadworks
davidh replied to Renata Hamvas's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
I can only agree with steve. this is a total waste of OUR money. to hell with the council apologists. -
tessa is in her sixties. she has left front bench politics. a term as london mayor is a reasonable next step. sadiq khan would, I think, have his eyes on a cabinet post if labour win the next election which seem likely at the moment.
