  1. Immigration vans used to arrive occasionally very early in the morning on the estate where I lived in Peckham. Before people would be awake. So I suppose arriving at a restaurant at 6.00 pm on a Saturday evening would make sense if they had real concerns regarding people smuggling. As that is often what is going on. The owners would face a huge fine if they are found to be involved in such a crime. Note I said IF. As we clearly do not know ATM
  2. Tessa J GP. LOL You can not even book an advance appointment. You can only get one on the actual day if you win the lottery and get through before all the alloted call backs are taken. Not even an actual appointment a telephone screening call. So you don't actually get to see a GP. The app is always down. If you work and can not use your phone how do you get a call back????? You can't even go sick for the day because there is very little chance of securing a call back. We didn't ask for a reduction in NI and I don't think most of us really minded paying it. Why cut NI when the system obviously needs some investment. Even if this means that and I can't believe I am saying it. Even if that means that there is more auditing and inspection of how the monies are being used. Previously the staff from the Pharmacy practically carried me upstairs and begged the staff to get a GP to help me. They refused even though it was obvious I was very ill. I had to take myself to AnE at Kings where they saw me within 30 minutes even though the were very busy. All I needed was antibiotics for a chest infection which was untreated as I could not get an appointment with the GP. I had been really ill for a few weeks. I would have. Probably ended up being admitted if I hadn't got to AnE that evening. The staff at the pharmacy where really supportive and worried about me. They even asked me to call them when I could because they wanted to know that I got some help.
  3. Brilliant. This is the right place As we need some support. I will be in touch. TY
  4. Thank you Sue. I will change in Summer when I am off of work X
  5. I just joined when I moved to Dulwich 3 years ago. I have never seen a GP and I wouldn't even know their names. It is a shame. I have had to go to AnE for a chest infection as I was sick for over 3 weeks. I don't know what to make of it. Is this a conspiracy to force people to go private. If they can afford it. Or are they just trying to kill us off through lack of medical support. I do not think that I am qualified to diagnose my own medical condition. This system is surely not a safe one. And people will eventually die due to lack of basic health care. It is a very bad situation. From cradle to grave. It seems more grave than cradle to me. Are all so called GP practises as bad?
  6. I find it impossible to see a GP but at another practice. And I agree with your observation regarding empty waiting rooms. I never really picked up on that until recently when I had to go to my GP to try and resolve a prescription issue. So you are not alone. My GP is Tessa J What can we do to change things.
  7. Yeah it wasn't a nice experience. And I am really glad that the infestation was obvious Or else I would have been horrified. And well out of pocket. As it would have cost a lot of money to get rid of the things. Let alone the anxiety it would have caused me. I was very upset that evening and washed all my clothing and trainers on a long very hot wash to ensure that I didn't transfer anything to my house. But I think most sellers would be more careful. I hope.
  8. Yes it was a private seller. I don't think it was intentional though.
  9. It was a piece of furniture from a bedroom. But not a bed.
  10. I have never been able to get an appointment. Even getting repeat prescriptions is a battle. They are the very worst GP practise I have ever been with. You can not book an appointment in advance. It is terrible I need to change to another practice. Does anyone recommend another GP practise please. It is very stressful trying to get through on the phone and the apps are even worse. I have never been able to get an appointment. Even getting repeat prescriptions is a battle. I just checked the website and noticed that the latest inspection in October/November 2023 grades the GP practice as Requires Improvement in several areas. I never noticed that before. But I am not surprised. Plus they quote themselves as booking advance appointments. Which is a total untruthful statement.
  11. Hi all, I just want to ask you all to be vigilant when buying any items. I recently went to buy an item. I won't say exactly what it was because I do not want to embarrass the seller. Anyway as I was carrying it to our car I noticed a red Beatle thing on it. As we looked at the item it was covered in orange red bugs. Hiding in corners and eggs etc. It was a very unpleasant experience and has put me off anything ATM. I obviously returned the item and got my cash back. But it was awful and scary as I could have ended up with a infestation. later I googled bed bugs and this confirmed what we thought they were. So please look carefully at any item you purchase and do your research.
  12. So sorry Hun. It is a really scary experience. This is a real.crime and the police should be doing something about it. How dare they not bother. It isn't good enough. Maybe get on to whoever might drop some weight MP. Is there a minister responsible for.crime in the commons. Someone is going to get hurt and that shouldn't have to be what happens B4 anything is done. I can imagine the police would be quick enough to arrest a victim of they were able to catch the spineless so n so. x.
  13. The Name Neighbourhood Vet. Tries to imply a trustworthy, honest service. But it sounds like they are anything other than Neighbourly. Or any type of neighbour you would want. Shocking.
  14. Well maybe we should boycott Sainsburys if they do not take our safety seriously. We know that Sainsburys are not responsible for the events...... but really not supporting the community and any possible police investigations is insulting to the community and sending the wrong message to criminals. The car park must be owned/leased by Sainsburys they have a responsibility to maintain health and safety in the environment for insurance purposes. I am sure they would call police if I set up a tent and moved in. Does being beaten and robbed not affect your health and safety???? I wonder there must be some people who know a lot more about the legal issues and responsibilities.
  15. Does anyone have video door bell footage or these people. It seems that they are getting more aggressive in their method. They really need to be stopped B4 someone gets hurt. Please report these incidents to the police. They sound like they could become really nasty in the wrong circumstances.
  16. Cycling is a great thing. But for some people cyclists are a bit scary. As not all cyclists are safe or respectful of pedestrians or motor vehicles. They can at times be vocally aggressive. And a danger to others.
  17. Maybe ask local people to check video door bell recording's. And report accordingly.
  18. Gosh how freaking scary. This is assault and forced entry. I am glad that you were not subjected to further injury. Maybe you could report this to the police - I do understand why we don't officially report this type of incident. Had this been a more vulnerable person.... Who knows what the outcome could have been. I will be more careful opening the door. Take care and thanks for the warning
  19. Thank you for the information we can all be a little more aware. I think he may have been seen doing something else dodgy and posted hear previously maybe. Does this post jog anyone's memory?
  20. I hear you Tiny 23. Some people just don't listen. Or just don't want to grow Cats are very intelligent beings.
  21. Brilliant news. Going through Peckham Rye Lane is awful. Let's hope people use this service....
  22. Great stuff but we should all be grateful to our good neighbours looking out for and sharing any concerns. That is what good neighbours do, And although we are happy to hear that this concern seems to be explained I would want to support anyone sharing any concerns. As it could make us all safer.
  23. Hi Smiley, If you don't think you will need them. Maybe offer them for free on this site. As I had to test regularly when went to visit my Mum in care home recently.
  24. Bless you and little Felicity X
