It's never an assumption I had as a lad, and indeed I had to move out of where I grew up before I could even think about renting let alone buying. Is it really reasonable to assume that you can move out of home at the start of your career, with very low income, and buy a home in the same place in which your parents bought when their careers were presumably more advanced and their income was thus somewhat higher?
