    What's for lunch?

I've gone for the classic combination of sushi, chocolate, crisps and nurofen. That's how they eat it in Japan, you know.
  3. What you'd actually need is that sniper, plus a couple of trucks to tow away the suddenly-driverless cars. And perhaps a clean up team for the bodies. Oh, and a lookout or two presumably. Maybe some heavies to fend off any unwanted attention. And with a team this big, you'll need some admin. Which means premises of some sort. So you'll need cleaners too. And maybe get a canteen - so, catering staff - but hey, people need to eat. Now, this is all getting quite large. Perhaps you'd need a dedicated HR team to keep track of it all. And of course there'd need to be management to keep it all running smoothly (ahem), and a board of directors for the more strategic, high-level stuff... Sorry. Getting a bit OT there. *slaps wrist*
  4. I hardly ever use the bluetooth, which would be why I'm still K800i. I just sync calendar and contacts with my laptop now and then.
  5. It's like something from 419eater only with fewer Nigerians.
  6. Mine's still just K880i. How dull.
  7. I'm applying for schools for our oldest, so I'd be interested to hear which one it is.

    What's for lunch?

A deeply meh ham'n'cheese sarnie on almost stale brown bread. I won't be going back to that sandwich shop again.
  9. There are already loads of betting shops in ED, and they always seem to be empty apart from one or two forlorn-looking punters.
  10. I was the front runner in some sort of French reality TV thing to find the next big thing in theatre. They were looking for a 'serious actor'. It was still fairly early on in the process. There were five contestants, and only two of us with any real hope of winning. I was just keeping ahead of the other guy. The thing is, I was bluffing and had no idea what I was doing from one moment to the next. I was quite enjoying it though.
  11. Not enough perhaps - although given the baby's 'sleep = fail' attitude I think I can count waking up and getting to work on time as an achievement. What else though? Hmm... I have successfully refrained from buying unnecessary crap at lunchtime; attended a union meeting on pay negotiations, made my feelings known and cast my votes on various motions; identified a fifth introductory essay to commission for the next edition of the book wot i editt; issued guidance to freelancers; procrastinated and posted rubbish on the internet.
  12. We're filling in the application forms for primary school at the moment for our oldest daughter. The catchment areas work on distance from the school, not postcodes.
  13. I keep misreading the thread title as the google box. Probably because I spend so much time online that there's little room left in my life for telly.
  14. The 2012 logo.
  15. Spending little is how the rich stay rich, don'tcherknow? (Well, that and having sizeable investments that give large returns for zero work.)
  16. I'm out with Mrs Ant, but it we finish early enough I may try to steer us in that direction before we head home.
  17. I'd quite like a Wii. Feck knows when I'd get time enough to play it though, so it'd be hard to justify the expense.
  18. I've tried see-saws, catapults, actual drawings of things, falling alphabets, all sorts.
  19. Well, it'd crumple otherwise. It's very thin you know.
  20. Oh dear, I've spent far too long messing about with this already and I'm far from done with it. http://www.enigmasand.com/games/nphys/ Slightly OT, but this seemed more relevant to here than anywhere else.
  21. I'd agree with that. I've been four times. Three were good - definitely want to go back again good, but as Mockers says not necessarily impressing visitors good. One occasion was bad, but not terrible. Just enough to make me wonder, when taken along with all the other slightly lukewarm reports I've read on here, whether I'd be better off going elsewhere. I'd like to try it again for myself, but when I'm already paying 30-odd quid for a babysitter just to be out at all, I'm a little reluctant to gamble on maybe hitting them on one of their off nights.
  22. People who won't cough properly - why they won't I don't know, some misplaced notion of it not being good manners perhaps? - and then end up sort of half-coughing every few seconds for ages. Just cough properly and be done with it!
  23. Haven't been in ages but I'd be interested to know too.
  24. I'm not at all sad to see it go. Absolutely the most appalling service I have ever had to endure, and after all that the food was mediocre at best. Let's hope something better replaces it.
  25. The dapper alkies that used to hang about at the top of Landells Road - I haven't seen them in ages. Anyone else seen them about?
