  1. Banjaxed is such a top word.
  2. Ooh, I do love the Dr Who tune. Sadly I now have the theme to The Good Life stuck in my head. Hmph.
  3. I agree, it'd take something very special to beat Grange Hill. I quite like the music on the trailer for Dumped. Not in the same league as GH though.
  4. Does it lead to a back-room filled with whores, drugs and all-night card games?
  5. I wouldn't put it past people to drive there from within ED, let alone from elsewhere.
  6. Come along to the forum birthday drinks (21st Sept, upstairs at the Magdala) and you'll see that we're generally a friendly lot. :) Even if it's not a supermarket parking could suffer; the site's big enough for quite a few flats.
  7. It's quite a big site - it goes back quite far. Probably big enough for a supermarket. Not sure I'd be too happy if it was though; I reckon it'd have an impact on the parking in our street (Landells). Unless it was an M&S of course. :P
  8. Or, if you both feel that way, uptight pedants' dilemma. :)
  9. I'd definitely be interested in having a gander oop t'tower.

    Quiet room...

Except to Keef, presumably. The great, stinking numpty. ;)
  11. Ooh... shame it's not during the week too. Could have popped over in a lunchbreak to check it out.

*has not been to a festival and is therefore not rancid or smelly, thankyouverymuch* *huffs*
  13. I hate it but still need the pay.
  14. That's quite a list!

    Quiet room...

*floats in a few inches off the ground, being conveyed by a tiny hot-air balloon* *is dropped onto a comfy chair by the window* *waves to all* *resists the booze and for the moment contents self with the newspaper instead*
  16. Gah! Spotted! :) Bag any black straws?
  17. Thanks Asset - I'll let you know how it goes.
  18. It's between four and five foot tall, in a glazed ceramic pot that's about 20 inches in diameter. It's dropped a lot of leaves very quickly and many others have turned a sickly looking yellow. The pot doesn't have a hole in the bottom. I think there's some gravel at the bottom under the compost, but that's it as far as drainage goes. We moved it out into the garden to give it more light and get it away from the cat - it was a bit happier for a while but I think then it may have been a bit overwatered, what with all the rain.
  19. A bottle of white chilling nearby in the water...
  20. It's definitely been a second litter tray on at least one occasion. :(
  21. My dracaena marginata is looking rather poorly. It came on rather suddenly and coincided with us getting our kitten. I think fresh soil may be in order. I was wondering, rather than just bunging in some compost, whether there was anything more I can do to ensure it recovers and grows well. Does anyone know whether it prefers acidic or alkaline soil? Should I put shards of broken pot at the bottom? (I've heard that's something people do. Not sure why. Drainage?) Any advice welcomed.
  22. This is the first year I've managed not to get sucked in. It's great not being stuck in front of it every night, despising every second and yet feeling somehow compelled to watch anyway. Maybe the spell is finally broken.
  23. Has anyone had afternoon tea at Black Cherry? Mrs Ant is hankering after an afternoon tea and would like to know how the two venues compare.
  24. I was there this afternoon - have just returned in fact. It was all rather lovely, despite reminding me slightly of a visit to my granny's. The two types of mint tea on offer are both rather good. I preferred the whole leaf peppermint tea to the maroccan, I think.
  25. This is the first year that I've not watched Big Brother, and I must say I'm ****ing loving it. What a liberation! It's like I've got my summer back. (Well, nominally anyway.)
