  1. How long would you microwave them for if you're doing them from frozen?
  2. So that's why I can't videophone you. Tcha! You luddite. ;-)
  3. Your kitten looks extremely similar to mine, Bleep. You didn't get him/her from Battersea too did you? If so they could be part of the same litter.
  4. Nice to be reminded that 'the other kind of Yank' still exists. :)
  5. http://www.kittenwar.com/ :) (If you click that, be prepared to lose an afternoon.)
  6. She's settling in very nicely. Eating well. Good with the kids. Very friendly, even with visitors. Slightly annoying that she'll climb up into your lap, claws and all, rather than jump up. I'll put some pics up over the weekend.
  7. Have you seen this? http://www.nytimes.com/2007/07/05/technology/circuits/05pogue.html?pagewanted=2&ei=5090&en=39e3cc8226651f90&ex=1341288000&partner=rssuserland&emc=rss Slightly OT, but you did mention you might be interested in Skype and this is similar. US only for now, but I imagine it'd head over this way soon enough.
  8. I'm with Orange. Have never had any reception trouble in ED or the village. Or anywhere in London for that matter.

    The Plough Pub

Me too (although perhaps not to eat if it's anything like the Dog).

Not a chance, Mockers. Not a chance.

I like how there's now a minister for Defence and Scotland. Got to keep those troublesome picts down, dontchaknow.
  12. I've always like the word 'florin'. ED florins, anyone?

Maybe she'll start answering her constituents' letters now. Must be quite a backlog.
  14. I think perhaps the time has come for a separate scooter thread. In the lounge, maybe. Or wanted/recommendations. Edit - lo and behold, here it is: http://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/forum/read.php?9,28815
  15. Got some digging planned, Fear?
  16. Have been looking into it a bit more and yes, I agree with everything you've mentioned. If I do go for it I'll definitely get at least the CBT. I'd probably also go further and get the proper licence in time.
  17. I've got to admit, I'm very, very tempted. No more bus journeys - hmmm... How does it work out with the petrol? I imagine it'd be quite inexpensive to run. And the tax must be less than for a car, too.
  18. Of course just by posting that you've probably secured its publication already with no further action required. ;)
  19. How about an H&M? That'd be handy.
  20. Bah! Typical whinging middle-class suggestions! You wouldn't have heard that round 'ere when I were growing up (and all we had to eat was coal).
  21. They were great in there - thanks for suggesting them. :)
  22. Went to Battersea this morning and came back with a little kitten - a female tabby/tortoise-shell, 9 weeks old. Ahhhh.... Am really having to impose some self-control to leave her alone in our bedroom until she's feeling a little less freaked. Still need a name for her. Will probably be taking lots of pics of her once she's settled in.
  23. Only for so long. After a while they'll find themselves crying out for a bit of genetic diversity. (I wonder what the smallest practicable population for a suitably diverse gene pool might be... actually, no I don't. It's almost 10pm and just not the right time to start musing on such things.)
  24. Perhaps ED residents are more fatigued than the denizens of the other places he mentions. I'm not aware of them being quite as Nappy Valley as ED (although I admit I could be wrong).
  25. I think I'll give Battersea a go. Celia Hammond seem a bit too awkward, to be honest: inspections, rehoming kittens in pairs or with their mothers... Also, kittens from Battersea will already be vaccinated, microchipped and neutered (or you can get a voucher for neutering them later).
