Inactually do think it can be difficult to have open debate regards, say immigration, the topic raised. Race is an emotive and sensitive subject, people are quick to jump to infer meaning one way or another. Cries of racism or political correctness gone mad arise with unerring regularity. Is there a 'gagging order', I don't think so. But debate can very hard to keep focussed and I think,, particularly on here, met of us just avoid it. Some do however bring it up alot, relevant or no.

It did have notice saying it was shut for private party. I do fear for it as it's a nice pub with a lovely lovely landlord, but he's made no secret about how tough it is for tied pubs, and if their fair pint campaign isn't successful it could conceivably end up joining the dozens of tied pubs going out of business every month. I think you may be confusing growth with profit. There is greater demand for health for instance (demographic changes and population incease) the sector must grow and there then needs to be more jobs, more buildings, machines that go bing. Just because it's not profit driven doesn't mean the growth is false, even if we borrow to achive this. There is an argument that we could charge for the servi e to foreigners I guess, making it finN ially viable too? Just an example.

Weirdly I always remember my wife's number as 6-5. It's the only one I do. I guess it depends on the number.thinking about it mine works much better 5-2-2-2 too.

LL totally with you on the 020...7 thing. Not the other, I think the meter 5-3-3 is nicer and more mnemonic, but that might just be me
