  1. KK, that's the lovely Sarah, top Geordie lass, barmaid, part time teacher and art student.
  2. In all fairness 51 (without the judgemental bit) is pretty spot on though. Oh, and I'm figuring the club looks something like...
  3. The George Canning does a nice fire (albeit gas) but doesn't fit too many of the other criteria. Nice spot though.
  4. Cheers HonaloochieB. I guess that could have more clearly read "other proprietors have done".
  5. are people "in" for the race or a pub crawl. I'm definitely up for the latter.
  6. Singapore. I know he still lurks, but the time difference is a killer for conversation; you post, you wait, next day there's three pages since your last point!!
  7. to quote DM, OHMYGOD, jenny!! I remember her from that paragon of sense and sensibilty thread the cleansing of east dulwich. Whoah. I wonder how Swindon is treating her.
  8. Mate from chicwagee is over following next weekend, so may yet make it...though.....vale.....
  9. Yeah...whatever happened to Shambles?! I liked her.
  10. Liverpain is pretty much how I'm feeling after an Irish wedding last weekend!!! Definitely supporting Spain, but then, you know, I was born there and stuff.
  11. ED Quaywe seems to be a little taciturn these days. I haven't even seen him stumbling through the EDT of late.
  12. McDonald's in Peckham's reliably quick!! Agreed though it'd be nice if BMC came on the forum to have a word, like Kate from G&B did when they received a lot of flak. It's good publicity and won G&B a few fans; so much better than having a go at the Admin* behind the scenes or telling customers what miseries they were like another proprietor did once. * capitalised for he is the local deity
  13. Talking of Singapore..... Then there was CRAZYNURSE, she was good for a laugh.
  14. shared pc perchance?
  15. That's the fella. Still going strong, at least last time I was there, which was in march. I'd go with very very loud ;-)
  16. "unless they are playing germany or France" Are you a product of a franco-german union? How wonderful, you are truly a child of the spirit of cooperation of postwar europe and a poster child for how we have all managed to put past hatreds behind us, bravo!!!
  17. I love Mr "COME OOOOONNN DULWIIIIICH" down at the hamlets. I suspect he's a bit odd in that obsessively following small teams type of way (Nick Hornby and some), but is a lovely chap with possibly the loudest voice in the world.
  18. Looks like I might be doing just that. I have a mate over from Chicago.
  19. Most of my stuff comes from G&B. My Brother's a wine wholesaler and have often had generously discounted selections from him in the past. They've varied in quality depending on where he was working (oddbins being my favourite), but now he's started at G&B's top supplier I have to say I'm very very excited!!
  20. Or Monty-Python KidKruger, I totally see where you're coming from, however I think interested people are just trying to a) keep the tone reasonable b) protect the forum from potential harm should those in question (or an opportunist solicitor) read said discussions and slap a defamation/libel order against the forum.
  21. This has been a popular story over the other side of the Irish Sea Jim Corr goes all David Icke While we're on the subject of Ireland, I thought this a very good article in yesterday's Sunday Independent. http://www.independent.ie/opinion/columnists/con-houlihan/words-are-the-bricks-of-thought-1393811.html
  22. Congratulations. If I'm not mistaken, my new job means my position as Keef's number two (ewwww) has been usurped by a certain emerald islander!!
  23. I really rather enjoyed numero uno chilli as it happened, though to continue Brendan's similes, it was akin to running down a hill with your eyes closed in the full knowledge, that though there is plenty of gorse on it, there's a good chance you'll be thorn free at the end of it.
  24. Heat for heat's sake is for occasional fun. Like vodka jelly or something. you're right, untrammelled use overpowers flavour. The correct chilli should complement a dish's flavour, hence scotch bonnet would be a disaster in a thai green curry. The trick with the heat is to get a decent buzz without ruining the dish, wel, that's the trick for a chilli-head anyway.
