  1. Mind you, I'm a mockney, give me a couple of beers and I soon sound like a carrot-crunching farmer!!
  2. These guys were recommended in London's latest free magazine foisted upon me this morning. Good Choice frankly http://www.myspace.com/thedoband On My Shoulders is a great song as is Unissasi Laulelet
  3. I took me about 6 months to get my credit card cancelled as I didn't want it anymore. Everytime I tried they'd send me a new one with another one or two grand on the limit. I think it was about 20 grand limit when they finally agreed to kill the account.
  4. Cooool. I know Kate's had a couple of appearances before, but this was her launching her album in the states last night. I love her little lghuuurrrgh* at 39 seconds, really made me laugh *can anyone suggest a better spelling please.
  5. Must be nice in that ivory tower there Quids.
  6. There's hope yet http://politics.guardian.co.uk/homeaffairs/story/0,,2238201,00.html and sadly...http://www.thedailymash.co.uk/news/business/jesus-congratulates-blair-on-new-job-20080110648/
  7. Oh yeah, got Mathletics on the Camden Crawl CD. Can you be the most unique band? You pretty much are or are not unique...but I nitpick. May go for a purchase of that myself as I like, though its tough to go down the art rock route and not sound rather like Talking Heads ;-)
  8. One for the road Kissaway Trail - 61 Cute girl too
  9. Strange, I loved Miller's Crossing, it's honestly almost the perfect package. I don't go for all their films, but Fargo is absolute class. Hated the Ladykillers, not so keen on O Brother, Man Who wasn't there was good, but... Raisin' Arizona though .. weeeeeeeee :D
  10. Wow, i loved his comment "the experience was tense to say the least" Saffas are masters of understatement too, clearly!
  11. oh my god oh my god oh my god oh my god oh my god oh my god oh my god oh my god oh my god Rare's Goldeneye to be updated and released on XBox Live Arcade!!!! http://xboxevolved.e-mpire.com/article/No_Title/4272.html
  12. Chick Flick for sure
  13. how strange, have listened to both shortwave set and midlake today too!
  14. having had a good old chuckle at this thread, I wil lfinally weigh in on Charlie's side. I think they're just useful categories rather than stereotyping. That said I really can't think of many chick flicks I've been able to stomach. Love Actually vies with Contact and Forrest Gump in my book as the worst films ever made.
  15. catching me fast, but we can't hold a torch to the messaginous tour-de-force that is the Keefster!!!
  16. http://uktv.co.uk/images/standarditem/L1/527853_L1.jpg
  17. Oh god yes. I read his autobiography not so long ago. His work has definitely taken a toll on his life, but he's produced so many memorable, powerful and painful images. Totally with you on that one LL!!
  18. Martin Parr (one of the judges) was another reason why I got into photography, I accidentally stumbled upon an exhibition of his at the Reina Sofia modern art museum in Madrid and was blown away by what photography could portray and make you feel. He may not be to everyone's taste but he thinks a lot about what he does and how he does it, so you can't dismiss him out of hand. The programme format, and I don't doubt, the editing lend itself to an unsatisfactory experience however. Personally I'd have been happier with a South Bank Show on Mr Parr, but that's just me.
  19. The lovely lovely lovely Zooey Deschanel (almost famous, HG3) can not only act a bit and look very pretty, she 's a voice on her M Ward & Zooey - You Really
  20. Char1ie's our token unreconstructed male. Government positive discrimination targets mean every forum must have at least one. You may want to avoid the This is London forums where there's something of a plague of them at the moment.
  21. Confucius say man who like Love Actually is seriously lacking in taste and/or sanity.
  22. I dunno, I got to spend all day tramping around the fields and woods around where I grew up from the age of about 6 onwards with no obsessive parental supervision and have memories of parents going to dinner at a neighbours house and checking on us regularly. I bet most parents do and 99.999999999% of the time nothing happens. Of course we've absolutely no idea what happened, that might have happened, other things might have happened, but I'm really thinking more and more that Keef's theory could hold water.
  23. I can't believe T.A.T.U. aren't playing :(
  24. Ooh, Mac stuff, can't really help there, but do give firefox a go. I don't know if there's a way to clear the cache in safari options or something like that? The 'new's work fine on the missus' macbookything.
  25. I love you DM :D
