  1. There is a lovely irony in munging, meaning to change data such that it's irreversibly corrupted, has been corrupted to mean hiding your email address, thence to err, more disturbing stuff
  2. I always thought it was pretty dangerous, I saw about 6 ambulances crawl through those crowds the year I was there. Great fun though!!! weird bunch down tham thar paarts
  3. which has just appeared...hurrah :D
  4. cockney reds?! booo hisssss
  5. I try to avoid them on the whole, especially after the things I've learned today ;-0
  6. I'm reading a book about quantum physics, but so far it has provided no theory as to how time slows almost to a still on a friday afternoon, especially before a bank holiday. Though I have heard rumours that facilities are going round the building giving out chilled coronas and lime...hurrah!!
  7. I can't take back what I said can I? Bums! :-/
  8. I'd really, really rather not have to elaborate at all. *sweats a bit* let's just say one participant isn't willing, but neither would they be actively dissaproving.
  9. After a few listens, interspersed with much Feist and Elf Power, the New Pornographers is definitely a grower. It's no Twin Cinema, but then I don't think they'll ever manage to match it. It's a bit more low key, the songs and the melodies building progressively rather than the hook-laden power-pop oomph of the previous one. Neko Case still has one of my favourite voices in the world of new fangled music type stuff. Definitely a fine addition to any collection I'd say, just don't expect more of the same.
  10. The most appalling term I've ever heard is munging. Warning, you go to Urban Dictionary at your own peril!!!!
  11. Rudeness and eye-opening colourful colloquialisms. Though next time I wander past a playground I may keep my eyes shut...just to be safe!!
  12. Fantastic. I'll try and get a copy of it on the way home. Nice one Tom!!
  13. Nice one mfg. Indeed you're right and I should make an effort to go more often, as I'm rather fond of the place. I shall definitely pop in this weekend.
  14. all i'm saying is...
  15. Oh, well then I'd be in Kensington South.
  16. If I lived in Stockwell I'd say I lived in Stockwell, and it's a hole.
  17. I live on champion hill, i really don't give a sh!t whether it's dulwich, peckham or camberwell frankly Alan. Doesn't bother me one iota. All i know is I have a host of nice places to eat nearby in most directions, lots of nice pubs, it's quite green, Camberwell is photogenic, but frankly large parts of it are really quite unpleasant. To betray something I'd have to have some loyalty in the first place; sorry bud, but I don't. You seem to have a bee in your bonnet about it and I can't quite work out why, but if you like i'll get Vance and Owen down and we can sort something out, draw up some new silly maps, or I could hang about at the top of the hill with a dragonov gunning down old ladies, territorialism usually seems to end up down that path. I've some fascinating photos of Sarajevo if you want to see them. Those Novi Grad types didn't like those Zelecnica types much either.
  18. I'll try and dig out a historical match programme done by a local enthusiast. very interesting reading. It seems prior to 1914 there was a healthy number of teams in the area, including an east dulwich one a west dulwich one etc. Hamlets have been thereabouts for over a century. By 1918 there was one left, the rest of them having been gunned down in muddy fields. Sad really.
  19. re sun & doves - I'd cite an unseasonable season rather than ED competition, I was out and about in ED last night and it was very quiet for a thursday. Re borders - regardless of old boroughs demarcations it makes more sense for Hoopers to be either ED or peckham in terms of psychogeography, than camberwell. For me camberwell is a sort of victorian echo of better times, it's more picturesque in a piss-stained junkie, plastic bag ridden fear kind of way than east dulwich, but I'm pretty glad I have a hill between me and it and breathe a sigh of relief every time no-one stabs me in the bus queue by the green every day. Yay the silver buckle, traditional boozer huh.
  20. Wow, great stuff, and interesting stuff Jah.

  23. Apologies. In all seriousness, yes the media hype is making for a climate of fear, but when stupid kids can hold up apollo (or whatever its called now) for 70 quid, with a real gun, then that means there are probably more guns out there than makes me feel entirely comfortable. I'd like to know what the informed estimates are for the number of recommissioned decommissioned guns/replicas as well as for the more reliable real ones. And again in all seriousness, if it can happen in Letchworth (7th best quality of life in Britain apparently, I know, no wonder record numbers are leaving the country) then it really can happen anywhere.
  24. As it happens there was a shooting in Letchworth today, of all places. Someone shot 3 times in the face, which sounds pretty painful; 2 black men arrested and it's thought to be drug related. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/beds/bucks/herts/6960590.stm I was shocked; black people in Letchworth?!
