  1. I have to admit i'd never heard of south dulwich, but can't help feeling sorry for poor old north, who must be feeling somewhat neglected about now. Poor wittle norf duwich.
  2. Etymotic research. They'll stay in and the quality is spectacular. Mind you they block off ALL noise, cars, people, birds chirruping, your baby crying, even underground commuting hell noise. They can be a bit intrusive, but once you get used to them, no turning back. Mind you, 90 quid a pair. http://www.etymotic.com/ephp/er6i.aspx You can probably get them on amazon.
  3. I grew up with The Hamsters at the Baldock Buffalo Club. Mind you, I got served and could smurk fags without getting thrown out, and the smell of stale beer, sweat and RAWK, was pretty mind-blowing for a fifteen year-old lordship estate boy. The joys of growing up in the sticks huh?
  4. Aaah, noooo. Like . a . car . accident .
  5. painfully real.
  6. It's a bit tricky if it's an image. If it's a photo on a webpage then you can do a deeplink to it by pressing the insert image url thing, you can generally find an images url by right clicking it and viewing its propoerties. If it's your own photo then it's a bit toughter. I generally post it on flickr as a private photo so that it doesn't clutter the photostream, then deeplink to it there. that's me showing off now ;-P
  7. she loves her mum though. I know what you mean keef. Did anyone see her interview on popworld? Cringeworthy but hilarious.
  8. Indeed, I don't think there was any snobbery going on. I may be a bit of a muso but i don't think I'm a snob by any stretch. If music is good then I don't care if it's God Speed You! Black Emperor or Girls Aloud! I'll admit Avril's done some quality catchy pop, I just wish she'd stop believing she's some sort of moody expression of disillusioned youth and admit she's a pretty girl that does catchy pop; it doesn't wash girl, seriously.
  9. and a tragic one at that. So which is worse, starship's dreadful eighties synth pop aesthetic or the tragic decline of Grace Slick in to wrecking ball proto riot grrrl bad rock.
  10. Don't forget the dreadful suits and shoulder pads.
  11. How did they get from here to there is what I want to know? Jefferson Airplane - White Rabbit (live at woodstock)
  12. Bwah ha hah ha ha hah Starship - We Built this City
  13. I think everyone would agree on The Buggles, and I believe it's even made an appearance in the music room. I'm shocked no mention of "Starship - We built this City" though ;-)
  14. On the off chance that anyone wants to see how they were represented in the infamous south london cricketing extravaganza that was the forum (well, the CPT) vs the South London Press(ish) Here we are in cricket whit....well, browns, blues, beiges, ecrus etc And the opposition, including friends of the forum, Tom and Leon of the SLP. Bet you can't guess which side won!!
  15. Totally with you guys on that. As it goes early days interviews with Coldplay and they came across really well, even Chris Martin. Of course post 'supergroup' and gwinnie nonsense he's an insufferable arse, but that's the way it goes sometimes. Funnily enough when a song plays on my work random play at work (about 700 albums) that I think, that's a nice song, it's usually travis or morning runner, but likewise I wouldn't sit through a whole album.
  16. Aaaah, it's CTRL + WINDOWS + A, not ALT. I'm guessing you hit it loads of times until you accidentally hit the windows button. Hurrah.
  17. I cry foul! Not happening for me. Boo hiss!
  18. It's not in east Dulwich, but it's literally 5 minutes by train from Denmark Hill station, so easy for forumites to get to, and so good I thought it worth mentioning as had lovely anniversary diner there the other night. Tsunami (oops on the name) by Clapham High St station, sushi was Ubon quality at a little over half the price.
