  1. I'm obviously in a chilled mood today Psapp - Tricycle
  2. Best of luck but I won't be going to the vale any time soon.
  3. I did, 10 Downing St London SW1A.....
  4. Ooh I've been to the Ottery Tar Barrels, bonkers!! I'm treating Mrs Mockney to a meal at Scott's on Saturday with golden EDF married couple to be Huguenot and Bumbalina. Then sunday will be Park action followed by pub locally I reckon.
  5. vertiginously?
  6. Oooh, this makes me go weak at the knees, that soft Argie-Bargie accent. PM for translations ;) Juana Molina - La Verde
  7. You're right Bawdy, I'm regrowing my mutton chops as we speak.
  8. ACtually jimbo I'm pondering on getting rid of my lumbering beast of 102 years service. It's like huguenot's one only embiggened
  9. Luckily I have the luxury of walking to denmark hill and then it's pretty much 15 minutes in either direction, but normally get the blackfriars one. Does it matter if it's every 20 minutes? just get the one you need.
  10. * wonders to self if Godwin and Fisk are trendy new comedians or victorian music hall duo * * thinks it may be time to open a beer * *smiles, glad to be home *
  11. Huguenot is well up there with you for banning this one, proposed it, but got neighed. As a response format it used by a lot of usenetty type people long before fisking as a concept. So no go there. I occasionally fisk on my political circular but am deeply ashamed everytime i do it, sadly sometimes it's very difficult not to. Don't give up hope Mr Dale!!
  12. Ooh, fisking....light the blue touch paper Mr Dale. Of course if i was going to start fisking too I could posit that you lost the argument and brought in Godwins law with: >>I could call the administrator a 'plantation overseer' but not a 'death camp guard'. in order to challenge that Godwin's law is there to stop absurd use of metaphor/simile, but I'm not going to do that, don't worry ;-P

    a joke

  14. I'm still waiting for the jet packs that tomorrow's world promised me, but in the meantime I reckon the transport links are pretty good. Well, until I found out the hard way that the last east croydon train is 17:30 for goodness sake? Obviously Gatwick is closed after that!?!?
  15. I've literally just flown over Anfield on the way back from Dundee about 2 hours ago. I looked down and gave a little congratulatory thumbs up.
  16. Eh? So do stevenage. I wonder who'll win the strip toss (err so to speak) Yes Miss M, you should go, it'll be the first ever final at the new wembley and capacity is expected to watch 2 conference teams play (or are kiddie still in the league?) I for one am very excited. BOING BOING BOROUGH BOROUGH
  17. Ok fair enough. I think Godwin's Law has it's place as many forums are less than reasonable places and often frequented by younguns without a decent sense of perspective or americans, or both which is of course the worst of all possible worlds. I left the thisislondon forums a long long time ago for the above reasons, mind you they were mostly adults and British and should have known better frankly. This place is infinitely more reasonable and is anyway not really prone to the sort of left vs right type arguments that end up in ridiculous claims, comparisons etc. It only ever seems to be between salt o'the earth v ponces & chavs v reasonable people & originals v blowins & Nero v starbucks varieties, none of which lend themselves particularly to Nazi comparisons. I'm fine with no Godwin (not that it's my decision) as I only brought it in humourously (I *do* think it's funny) but maybe it can be reassessed if the dynamic of the forum changes significantly at some point.
  18. A bit over the top there Mr Dale. Godwin's Law was brought up by me once it had indeed come into effect in an interminable thread about women only sessions that had really died a natural death weeks before but had been ressurected. I used it in a humourous fashion but was glad when the Administrator saw it as the last call, after many others, to bury the thread once and for all. I think that was it's only application as far as I know. Shouldn't this be in About This Forum anyway, the lounge is supposed to be fun. Or are you just having fun Alan ;-p
  19. I don't think there are any league home games left but you might not want to miss out on... "The Final of the first ever Isthmian Women's Cup competition, between Leyton and Staines Town Football Clubs, will take place on Thursday, 3rd May 2007 at Dulwich Hamlet Football Club - kick-off 7.45 p.m." Dulwich's disappointing 8th place finish means no play offs as far as I can see. Blew it again!!
  20. No it wasn't too bad bawdy. I think the idea was to keep it wholly positive, but it did slide into the foods rubbish, bad service, flat beer type comments in the end. So how's this going to work? Heats, leagues, split them down by category and send them in to play-offs?
  21. It is an almost overwhelming list, but we are specifically voting on service, rather than product which should make all businesses comparable. ie no offence to Kebab&Wine, the product is hardly world class, but the they are practically superheroes when it comes to their service, so I'd be marking them pretty highly in my own personal top 10 (top 10 kebabs one for the top ten thread perhaps keef?) That's my two penneths worth anyway.
  22. Well I for one am a johnny come lately West Ham fan having only been a a hammer for 33 years tsk tsk, who would want to miss out on all the excitement eh? No doubt JCL fans have three wheeled buggies and Chelsea Tractors too? Ladygooner, shambles is indeed another ladygooner who goes to the Emirates, so I'm sure she'll have an easily twistable arm for pub footie. EDT is best for the big games, but as Sean points out they REALLY need to sort out that screen. CPT is best if it's not such a big game (read any west ham game) as you can actually find a spot to view the screen without a tall bloke/pillar/wall in the way. Though I'll never forget the England Denmark game there with 3 rows of people peering in throught the windows, and we all had always said that Heskey's great, honest. Mag is ok if it's not too busy, it just doesn't seem set up right to watch sport as it only takes 8 people in the pub to have taken up every half decent angle on the many screens. Ganley's was ok but has obviously shut now and would anyway switch over form premiership action to Clare vs Kilkenny in the Hurling.
  23. Good idea, especially as all the initial good will has urned into the usual whingefest. Now..The Palmerston...... ;-P
  24. Yes, I no longer use bags if I can avoid, ie I have my gay bag on me and I'm just buying a CD or some tooth paste, but sometimes its unavoidable. I'd have no objection to my Sainsbury's bill going up by 50p if they used biodegradable ones. Let's faces it it's absurdly pricey anyway!
  25. Well if there are any mint 7" there you're in luck. This one is going for 300 dollars!! http://www.musicstack.com/item/85646811/shadowfax/the+russians+are
