  1. Dulwichmum - I don't know how to tell you this. I've been to battersea dogs home and found an adorable Jack Russel pup, his name's keef. Batdog - This caaan't be 'appening, I'w kill 'im I wiw, kill him. *as batdog rises, a bulging eyed sea of rage, he is restrained by an avuncular CrystalCLear* CC - Don't do it batdog, its not werf it, you'w be looking at a twenty stretch! *batdog calms almost imperceptibly* BD - You've not 'eard the last of this dulwichmum, i'w be back, you'w pay fer this!!
  2. How excited am I? Popped into Fopp to find Modest Mouse's new album (We were dead before the ship even sank) is out already. Hurrah!!
  3. * wonders when quiet room became sick room * * pops another record on the stereo *
  4. I'll kick off the week with the funky Nottingham lads.. Little Barrie - Love You
  5. Six quid? You lucky thing! I got 4 pounds for my morning's work at Fairhaven Wholefoods, weighing out figs and sultanas. I think I was 16 before I was allowed to work the whole saturday in a hi-fi shop, but could have been 15. Too long ago to remember.
  6. * ties stunted unicorn up by hay bales, thinks how happy to have rescued uni from all those cigarette experiments at huntingdon life sciences * * pops some quiet miles davis on stereo and starts cooking a big fry up * * cocks an eye at bagpuss and keef, hungry? *
  7. Sadly when I made my bid for freedom as a surly teen I suddenly found myself with a job in all my spare hours. A real eye-opener that one and an own goal for teenage piersy. Daisy could swap lives with me for a bit if you like. You can cook and clean for me and she can sit in an office for 40 hours a week writing dull code to facilitate evil sales people even duller lot. She'll be ringing the doorbell and sweet as pie in no time I'm sure ;)
  8. But we never identified the handshake or which trouser leg we roll up to the knee.
  9. From what I can discern from a CrystalClear text. It looks like they were reanacting a comedy drinking episode at the CPT yesterday. You should have gone down and made your entrance anyway, before getting slung aaat by peggy 'candice' mitchell.
  10. Being a fellow pastafarian I'm delighted at the suggestion, but fear for the egg noodles safety around so much water. I belive bulgar pasta is a hardier varietal, and will be much safer. Actually I'm also a bit of a 9 stone weakling, so there should also be a 'shy skinny men ridiculed by women and had sand kicked in face night', with no women to snigger and buff men to bully. Perhaps I can squeeze it in after the latvian pole jumpers' gardeners session on a tuesday afternoon.
  11. Clare, I went with a combination of the roasted peppers, which everyone loved (I also added some cream cheese and chopped hot peppers) and Jeremy's glazed fowl, I used Havana Club tres a?os as i hadn't managed to get calvados, and it worked a treat, with a quick mushroom risotto and some steamed fennel, all with a jus/gravy made ot of the peppers and chicken juices, and a dash of cornflour. I shall be using all suggestions in due course. top effort dulwich. We didn't manage the Drum in the end, she's not good with smoke and my cough is still pretty bad, but she loved lordship lane, leash and all ;)
  12. chirrup chirrup shhhhwwwwwooooossshshhhhhhhwwwoooooooooo ...or not. You seem to be in direct competition with *bob*. Perhaps you should pool your chances.
  13. I've only managed a disturbingly late tuesday, and the forum meet so far. but have a mum in tow today, so may pop in for coffee.
  14. Drum, yes they've been mentioned over here in the music room http://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/forum/read.php?20,7146,page=3 Rather good I must say. Louisiana, I've got a rrrather laaarge pock------et!! Loved flowered up. London's baggiest loons :)
  15. Fair enough. We split the title deeds too, maybe i conflated the two concepts.
  16. Wooo !!! :D Where did I put that party Popper?
  17. Oh dear. Pietersen gone Creek sans paddle as the obo would say
  18. That would explain my inability to understand your drunken patter after 8 pints ;)
  19. We'll cruise to a comfortable but unremarkable victory. everyone else seems chuffed about the Bell wicket: obo = "WICKET! Bell c O'Brien b O'Brien 31 (England 89-3) Thank God for that." cricinfo = "Thank goodness that's over. No need for such pedestrian batting - ever. Ireland celebrate the wicket ... but not nearly as enthusiastically as almost all of England. I swear that Michael Vaughan was seen to leap up and high five Andrew Flintoff... 21.2 KJ O'Brien to Bell, OUT, gone! Bell's turgid knock comes to a tame end, attempting to late-cut a straight one from O'Brien...but he could only deflect it straight into the wicketkeeper's gloves IR Bell c wicket-keeperNJ O'Brien b KJ O'Brien 31 (74b 2x4 0x6) SR: 41.89"
  20. We'd love to, but it could become very expensive and time consuming as we apparently have asbestos issues tucked back there. :(
  21. Louisiana. I guess the cohabitees of whom you speak should remortgage jointly (its not necessary to be married to do this). This way when the old fella is bumped off, err.. drops dead from work-stress induced embolism, mortgage is instantly paid off.
  22. Our irish lad of pilotlight fame thinks Joyce has "had a braveheart moment" which he then illustrated with a wink, a thumbs up a mimed missing the ball and a feigned oops.
  23. You lucky thing, a friend of mine saw her at hammersmith and couldn't stop talking about it for weeks. Don't you worry Napoleon Solo-k, I'm Joanna Newsomed up to the max. Ys was my album of 2006 too. Yes I agree Regina's new album is a little too slick, but still has some great moments like the linked Apres le Deluge. I just couldn't find a video to chemo limo ;) On a similar note I'd recommend Coco Rosie, Cat Power, Martha Wainwright and the wonderful Laura Veirs, to which I lunk a few posts up. In fact I also lunk to Sandy Denny, sort of a godmother to them all I guess (though a dead one obviously). Martha Tilston is well worth a listen too, I shall dig around. Watch this space.
  24. *swishing sound of piers getting his coat* Really? I thought I was just helping clear up some of the terms in usage on the thread, being bandied about like secret knowledge.
  25. Nice Tillie, I liked it alot. Judging by the lack of mangy foxes and grimacing joggers, the video wasn't shot locally ;) Oh ex ozrics and senser. Good heritage. http://www.guitarmagazine.co.uk/images/mp3s/27_4_6/speak.mp3 there's more here http://www.jennifernewton.co.uk/wakesite/mp3s/speaklikeyoumeanit.mp3
