  1. Oh how I wish the politicians at home would take this to heart. Something like this makes the news back home all the more depressing.
  2. I think it's fantastic! We've just moved into a flat together, found that on the forum as well.
  3. I did! Almost a year ago. It's all the forum's fault. jumpinjackflash Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > So, Mr Buoyant Allium Cepa, did you actually meet > someone through this forum or what?!
  4. Oi! Watch it Tillie!!
  5. I can only do the 17th. I haven't been for ages, but Dulwich Tandoori has always been a good place to eat in the past.
  6. I love this forum because.... it's responsible for me meeting the love of my life. Damn you Admin.
  7. I like this from the start of the Newport Bermuda race. Complete mayhem with a 100 footer ploughing through the middle: http://bermudaraceadmin.com/gallery/2008_Bermuda_Race_Start/images/prevs/prev8.jpg
  8. PGC: They're really satisfying when you do solve them though! Bleep: Oh yes.
  9. From a government that can't hang on to top secret intelligence and we should trust them with ID cards? What happens when those records are lost?

This may be the case if you are an American citizen picked up off the street. You may want to be careful flying through the US though. Maher Arar, a Canadian citizen was detained for 374 days. From Wikipedia: Extreme? Yes. But removing the legal safeguards that are in place is a dangerous direction.
  11. Had to start working again at level 9.
  12. You've got song lyrics & an artist. Find the song name!
  13. Hmm.. It was during the day & I'm under 30. And a lot of fun!
  14. I'll be along if my taste buds have grown back by then.
  15. SteveT Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > The US have no need for holding people for 42 > days, and they suffered the attacks. Guantanamo bay? Rendition? Warrantless wire taps? The American justice system is doing a great job.

I agree with STB when the case is well > made And here's part of the problem I have with this, the 42 days detention is only required when the case can't be well made. If the case can be well made then they can charge the person & hold them until it goes to a fair trial. The government can now hold you for 42 days when they can't make a case against you.
  17. The curry club isn't about the hottest chillis. It's all about good food & good company. There only a couple of us who are idiots. I blame Mr. P for encouraging me.
  18. AllyCat & the goldfish survived. It's my coworkers that I now pity. The dish wasn't too spicy, but I certainly wouldn't recommend the garnish! Next time somebody needs to bring a camera.
  19. Neat game. Thanks for the link.
  20. Getting back to this a bit late I know. In the same way that the birds are safe, I quite like this . Jaws Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > My questions is: how come pigeons do not get > frazzled, when they perch their tootsies on the > electric cables??
  21. Assuming that we haven't killed each other while moving house, then Lady Onion & myself should be along.
  22. Way ahead of you there! By almost a year. Yikes. That's a whole different thread. Strawbs Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Damn it - I was hoping to wear that crown for a > moment.. well I did until I read your post Annaj - > one step ahead of me!
  23. Heck, my first date with Lady Onion was pretty much setup via PMs...
  24. As long as there isn't any bloody running!
  25. I'm very competitive. I've had years of practice at running while drinking. Now where was that thread about King's A&E? Should also be dragging a mate to this & the forum drinks. As Lady Onion will be out of the country it should be interesting!
