Taxi firms with baby car seats - Rye Cars
nikki73 replied to mooncake's topic in The Family Room Discussion
We ve had mixed experiences with Rye cars, including a no show for an airport run and no car seats also for an airport run despite having pre-booked and confirmed 4 hours before. Their drivers are lovely though so we ended up using them again. Not sure I will after the last bad experience (the car seat incident) as we very nearly missed our flight. -
Nikkikf we have the same problem. Not very original but I also give cucumber sticks and bread sticks. As a treat we use the cheese dipper but they are probably very unhealthy. Popcorn? Knomester I am always amazed by your recipe ideas. They always sound yummy and healthy. Would love to know where you get your recipe ideas from. Flapjacks and fritters sound great for lunchboxes and tempting my fussy eater. Am going back to work soon. Are these quick to make?

don't really know the prices now but when I was growing up Decathlon was v good value, at least for shoes. They have a website.

My nursery shuts during most half terms. Are there workshops or holiday schemes for young children during half term breaks? My daughter turns 3 in October. Thank you for any suggestion.

Baby refusing bottle - any tips?
nikki73 replied to Bellenden Belle's topic in The Family Room Discussion
B Belle I wouldn't worry too much about baby belle not getting enough milk. He'll stop being fussy when he really needs the milk I am sure. Like others say he'll catch up in the evening. I second the idea of a half soft/half sippy cup type spout, if tommee tippee does,nt work. I also did something that's not recommended but it worked for us: crushed a bit of banana in the formula, and progressively (literally a matter of days) stopped. Maybe you could try something similar? With my second I added vanilla flavoured cereal to her milk to her first formula feed. Was trying to make it as appealing as possible to avoid having any problems. There's probably loads on the market but the one I buy is babynat. There are several flavours. Also my fussy girl only ever accepted Hipp formula. I really feel for you. I got so worried about returning to work because of it. I am sure she picked up on it. I hope you manage to sort it out before your birthday. and on a positive note my fussy baby went on to wean off the boob really easily, took to cows milk straightaway and at close to 3 still loves milk. -
Been twice. Have felt unwelcome on both occasions. Service very poor and strained atmosphere. Big fan of petitou's. Friendly.

Baby refusing bottle - any tips?
nikki73 replied to Bellenden Belle's topic in The Family Room Discussion
How frustrating. Not sure whether it's the best approach but it was the only one that worked with my eldest. you've probably thought of this but could it have anything to do with the flow of the teat? -
I know there have been a number of threads about moths but I am finding it all very confusing. Can anyone recommend an effective solution. It sounds to me as if glue traps are the way forward. Any specific brand? How can I if possible make sure the problem doesn't spread. Any prevention tips? If there are already eggs on clothes are these visible and if they aren't is there anything I can do to prevent them from eating everything? My freezer is tiny so freezing everything would be difficult.

Peckham Rye One O Clock club-October update
nikki73 replied to Renata Hamvas's topic in The Family Room Discussion
totally agree wth you kittysailing. i think a lot of people just aren't bothering anymore (including me) because it's not always open when it should be. A real shame because it's such a valuable resource, especially for parents with 2 or more little ones. -
Thanks for all the suggestions. no doubt i'll be posting very soon for tips on best marker pen!

I am looking at buying name tags for putting on clothes. Any good companies out there? Assuming iron on is the best option and woven the best quality? Any tips gratefully received. thanks.

Anyone been on Eurostar with a todder?
nikki73 replied to verds's topic in The Family Room Discussion
We ve done it with 2 kids one 2+ and a baby a couple of times. It's a bit cramped if the train is full but it is a relatively short journey.you could try booking the seats facing each other although at peak times you might end up with another family with kids. If money is an issue I wouldn't bother booking the extra seat, unless perhaps you re on the Eurodisney train which is packed with families.if you go to the seating plan, you ll get a feel for how busy your train is. Good luck! -
