  1. I've heard that more than ever this year at Dog Kennel Hill were offered Peckham Academy and Harris Boys. ETA would be very interested to hear what families were offered too.

I'd love to know the answer to this, I grew up on FHRoad and delivered newspapers to all of these roads. Like you, we always called it The-raypia Road, then I worked in a builders where they called it Thera-pia. Have always wondered which was true.

Yes, my first weekend job when i was about 13 was in Jonathans, the little sweet shop next to the Chinese which I think must have closed down in the 80's was run by an Indian family who had twin girls a year above me at school. There was a proper butchers, bakers and greengrocers up until the early-mid 90's too.
  4. Lewisham charge too. Southwark will take up to 15 items per calendar month for nowt.

  6. The picture looks very much like it could be what is now 4 Goodrich Road? (Looking at Google maps!)
  7. Hi Jeni, Is there any insentive for this?
  8. Thank goodness for school - and work for me! T2 (14) had a breakdown this morning after I told him off for dragging 6 yr old sister off of sofa. (She did kick him but he did overreact.) T1 (15) could not find his trainers even after I informed him 3 times that they were under his bed. They WERE under his bed. Weekends are spend on Xbox, laptop, in bed and asking for food... Sometimes all at the same time.
  9. I noticed 3 ladies rummaging through a bin on Ivanhoe yesterday, they seemed to be pulling out small electrical items.
  10. The Crystal Palace Road site is mentioned in the link in the first post, as is James B's school quote.
  11. I heard in Ivanhoe Road! Sounded like a loud firework from here.
  12. A Mini Micro would be perfect and will do her for a few years, my youngest was (slowly) using her sisters from about that age.
  13. I was hoping for a d ining room in D ulwich. D isappointing.

  15. Have to agree with unlurked too. Good luck to them.
  16. My 4 have had various dolls over the years but the best one at the mo is the baby doll from Sainsburys, she's own brand, very cheap and very cute. They do accessories and clothes as well, she's soft bodied, my youngest has given this one more attention than all of the hand-me-downs she's had including Babyborn, Baby Annabel and various other brands! We prefer soft bodied - easier to cuddle, dress and store in a bag or bottom of buggy if needs be.
  17. Or just stand it next to the bin, saves the hard work with the same result.
  18. I had heard there was an emergency meeting at the end of term, had no idea what it was about though. It would be brilliant for the school if Wayne Cooper were to be head permanently. He is an amazing deputy head and teacher who turned my (now year 9) sons schooling around in his last year there. So much so that he spends a lot of his spare time now helping there! I would go so far as to say he would be a better head than Linda Ewers in my opinion. As Zaarvark said though, please don't hold out too much hope on one school, we live a 4 minute walk from DKH and my daughter didn't get in 3 years ago on distance. Keep your options open, we are extremely happy with the school we were given and we knew nothing about it when we were first offered it.
  19. Watched a few Christmas films back to back with the husband last night. Luckily I was the one facing the television.
  20. We've been using them for as long as they've been there and the car's always sparking inside and out.
  21. I was raised as an only child, which really pissed my sister off.
  22. Pictionary is briliant for all ages.
  23. I assume the problem is the ED surgery, this being the ED issues section.
  24. Surrey Quays. 10mins from Peckham Rye on overground. My 2.5 year old loved it in the summer hols.
