  3. Have to agree with unlurked too. Good luck to them.
  4. My 4 have had various dolls over the years but the best one at the mo is the baby doll from Sainsburys, she's own brand, very cheap and very cute. They do accessories and clothes as well, she's soft bodied, my youngest has given this one more attention than all of the hand-me-downs she's had including Babyborn, Baby Annabel and various other brands! We prefer soft bodied - easier to cuddle, dress and store in a bag or bottom of buggy if needs be.
  5. Or just stand it next to the bin, saves the hard work with the same result.
  6. I had heard there was an emergency meeting at the end of term, had no idea what it was about though. It would be brilliant for the school if Wayne Cooper were to be head permanently. He is an amazing deputy head and teacher who turned my (now year 9) sons schooling around in his last year there. So much so that he spends a lot of his spare time now helping there! I would go so far as to say he would be a better head than Linda Ewers in my opinion. As Zaarvark said though, please don't hold out too much hope on one school, we live a 4 minute walk from DKH and my daughter didn't get in 3 years ago on distance. Keep your options open, we are extremely happy with the school we were given and we knew nothing about it when we were first offered it.
  7. Watched a few Christmas films back to back with the husband last night. Luckily I was the one facing the television.
  8. We've been using them for as long as they've been there and the car's always sparking inside and out.
  9. I was raised as an only child, which really pissed my sister off.
  10. Pictionary is briliant for all ages.
  11. I assume the problem is the ED surgery, this being the ED issues section.
  12. Surrey Quays. 10mins from Peckham Rye on overground. My 2.5 year old loved it in the summer hols.
  13. Not sure why the short notice, I'm sure we had more notice when my son went last year. My older son went to Spain in year 9, we received the letter requesting the deposit approx one week before it was due, I wrote an email to the teacher who organising the trip and the head of year, they were lovely and gave us extra time to pay and even extra time to get his passport as we just didn't have the money to do it all at once! The reason they miss out January is to give parents a bit of respite after Christmas, you can of course pay in January if you want too, it will show as an option on ParentPay, there's nothing to stop you paying early. My older son missed Cornwall as the letter sat in his bag for too long! I'm guessing the cost for Cornwall is high is it's a really full on trip, my younger son went in July this year and from memory they did surfing, rock climbing, canoeing, body boarding, caving, kayaking and swimming... that was just in the daytime! More activities went on in the evenings, they had and amazing time and came back exhausted. Email the school if you have any queries, I've always found them most helpful. ETA. The 'scum bag kids' comment has got to be the biggest load of rubbish I have heard!
  14. Who assumed all estates were crime ridden?

  17. The link below shows Fernie House, I'll get down there this week and see if I can get a pic of the front doors side of the block. https://maps.google.co.uk/?ll=51.463942,-0.07956&spn=0.000747,0.001742&t=h&z=20&layer=c&cbll=51.463864,-0.079498&panoid=nHzmnGY0KLo4v67LNWxBkQ&cbp=12,173.54,,0,-2.87
  18. Fernie House is indeed still there, I'm happy to take some photos for you if you'd like to see where he lived.
  19. Yep, seen the chalk marks one a million times. The sticker one only caught my attention as it was the same sticker we had, what's the story behind them then? Who's sticking them and why? Absolutely agree about the absurdity of the tiny stickers though!
  20. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2509221/Burglars-target-homes-marked-stickers-scouts-check-streets-easy-targets.html#comments I know, I know it's in The Mail so it must be true... BUT... I found one of these stickers on our letterbox yesterday evening, anyone else had one? Can anyone else link to a burglary or know if there's a legit company behind them?
