Aquarius moon, Robert Poste's Child and LadyNorwood were around mid-thread and offered, at the very least, some differing angles of opinions.
  2. The obviously love East Dulwich more than West Dulwich.
  3. Since Rightmove is already owned by a conglomerate of the some of the biggest estate agent companies in the UK, it would be a difficult task to try and extract such terms from non-aligned estate agents. I suspect Rightmove would employ a tit-for-tat contract and strangle the young upstart at birth. Anyway, most people search over both websites anyway. One more isn't going to make selling all that more easy/difficult.

  5. I've reported some of them, but they are multiplying at speed!

  9. I would agree (and have agreed) with all that, LB. I merely expressed it in more gender neutral language. Plus I was also referring to the wider issues we covered. But, you obviously don't agree with my conclusion. Fair enough.

  12. I'd be tempted to get out the yellow paint and write "RSE" after it.

  14. There's a difference between polite asking versus intimidating and annoying customers. The first is, I think, rather entrepreneurial and good luck to them. But if a simple "no" is not accepted then they should be given the boot off the premises by management.
  15. OK, I've listened (since you asked so nicely!). Whedon is actually quite an engaging speaker, isn't he? There's not much there I didn't agree with. You might be horrified at this, but I think that, ideologically, we are actually not too far away from each other. In fact, I think I am closer to your way of thinking than david_carnell's. We both see that gender issues affect both sexes, though we disagree how they should be tackled - though probably not as much as three pages of sometimes impassioned posting would suggest. I think we both are, in my shaky terminology, basically 'equalitist/egalitarian', even though you like to call it 'feminist' and I don't.
  16. Can't I just read the text?? I hate watching videos of speeches...!
  17. Sorry, LB, we cross-posted (I took a stupidly long time typing that last post, believe it or not). I have read the text of your video now. OK, I get that. Maybe that is what I am searching for.
  18. I suppose the difference is that feminism is such a broad church. Like it or not, radical feminism, separatist feminism and other strands are not interested in equality. It is about separating out that part that is truly equalitist/egalitarian. The bit that looks to true equality. If you like, an equalitist/egalitarian can be a feminist (in fact, almost certainly is), but a feminist is not necessarily an equalitist/egalitarian.
  19. No, it wouldn't. I refer you to legalbeagle's definition.

What I want is a name for someone who is "an advocate of human rights based on equality of the sexes" or even just "an advocate of equality of the sexes". Equalitist? Egalitarian? Humanist?

Thank goodness - I thought that one was just me.
  23. Portmanteau names, like Brangelina, Tomkat, etc. I mean, FFS, grow up world media.
  24. DulwichBorn&Bred Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Why is this moved to the lounge when it's an East Dulwich issue and would get more viewings on the > other board ? I suspect because it is not a specific East Dulwich issue, but more of a general South London issue, as per the title.
  25. Ugh, SJ. It's always the extremists and the MRAs that wade in and wreck things. As LB said, it's not a competition. It's about trying to make sure that everyone gets the help and support they need, whatever gender.
