  1. Damn you Woof, you were too quick for me to get a Hand of God joke in. Not that I could think of a good one...
  2. Seems like I'm in the Harmy as well. That means I have to choose between the LibDems, the Tories and the Greens. I might just vote for the LibDem, Columba Blango, because that just has to be the coolest name for an MP, ever...
  3. Ooops. Sorry. It always helps if I read the rules first. Are the number of dashes in your question significant?
  4. Ra-ra skirts? Leg Warmers? Shoulder pads nine sizes larger than necessary?
  5. "It's all bobbins" - Frank Sidebottom
  6. If we are going to merge services, can we do it with a borough that is not a complete administrative disaster area?
  7. Also, there are no tetrapak recycling facilities in the UK - it all has to be shipped to Scandinavia. The carbon footprint must make the whole exercise of rather dubious environmental value. That's not to say recycling rates in Southwark could not improve dramatically. Though apart from food and tetrapaks, I'm not sure how much more our household could recycle. We barely have a quarter of a bin load a week now.
  8. Then fine, adjust the means testing to be less stringent if that is the case. Frankly, councils giving out stuff to those who can afford it is insanely stupid, especially at the moment. Labour - Feeding the middle classes for free.
  9. So, Labour Southwark "Can we think of a stupid waste of money that'll buy votes" school meals idea is now official. Say bye bye to this (previously Labour voter) vote. Did no one tell you there was a recession on? A ?2M/year waste of money. Who'd have ever thought that Labour would run on a platform of "Labour - Feeding the middle classes for free". What has happened to Labour ideals?

    Untaxed vehicles

Hmm. I'd wonder if you would be so understanding of untaxed vehicles if one hit your car and sped off...
  12. Apparently Alice believes that only the middle class are polite.
  13. When you say young, do you mean under 13? Were you paying them? If so, you might want to read up on child labour laws...
  14. I thought the new term by the hyperbole merchants for 'a bit poor' was 'living in poverty'.
  15. Late night bike tippers?
  16. If you want to be sneaky, tell 'em you are away in France or something and need to ring them. 0844 numbers and their like can't be called from outside the country, so they'll need to give you the 020 number. Then post it here!

Blimey he got in (and out) quickly. Especially as Michael Calrke just dumped her! > 5) Aus dollar is whooping Sterling > 6) Sydney house prices are going through the roof Surprising as NSW is broke. Australian success is riding on WA and QLD mining. > 7) Vegemite still a poor imitation of Marmite Marmite is sloppy muck. Vegemite is the Real Thing. I've never understood the faciniation with Sydney. It looks good but is very shallow. A bit like Lara Bingle, really.
  18. MrBen Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Green Party had my economic policy of choice Good lord - did they? I wouldn't trust the Greens with the economy! They're a bit "on non-speaking terms with reality" sometimes on such matters. Did the Tories by any chance get you with their environment policy? :))
  19. Though to be fair, Keef, most people will accept Lawrence's statement and not bat an eyelid, even though it is as racially loaded as the OP's original point. Likewise, the mugging question turned to 'black males' and everyone got concerned at the racial aspects of that, but not the sexist aspect (even though there has been a few reports of female muggers in the area). Conclusion: people are all sexist/racist/insert your own term here. They just think their brand is acceptable.
  20. Crime - Lib Dems Democracy - Lib Dems Economy - Conservatives Health / NHS - Labour Makes sense. I will be voting ABL (Anyone But Labour), but that is mainly based on hoping that the next lot will reverse all of Labour's destruction of freedoms in this country. Even though it will be destabilising in the short term, a Tory/Lib Dem hung parliament may just be a good thing in the long run.
  21. That link is for a private 'advice' company, charging ?1.50 a minute. Avoid. I'd go straight to the IPS website for info: IPS Passport Website If you are after the latest photo guidelines, PDF is available here
  22. Phew. Not just me then...

It does not define my way of thinking, so it is irrelevant and nor should my thinking be judged on that. After all, I guess that the lady Woof is talking about is a parent... > I'm not a brigade, just a parent of a soon to be > 19 year old who has his own mind. However once > upon a time he was a baby and accepted whatever > came his way. Giving love to whoever was there > without any preconceptions. I happen to think that > was something beautiful. What gives you the right > to make your sarcastic comment? Oh, there is a brigade. A rather large one. One that thinks that parenthood gives you some special view upon the world. Not all parents, I would hastily add. Some - indeed most - have a broader view. Besides, if I don't have the right to make my comments, what right did you have to pick Jah up on his? Edited to fix some terrible grammar on my part.

Always nice to hear from the 'you're not a parent - how could you ever understand' brigade...
