  1. If it's taken away from Southwark PCT, how are you going to get a hospital on there?
  2. Debt = money. The more debt (i.e/ mortgages) there is, the more money in the economy. A simple cartoon explanation at , if you have a spare 47 minutes. Quite eye-opening.
  3. Do people really skip the roundabout? Seems a pointless ratrun to me. You'd only get caught at the Adys Road lights.
  4. Hmmm Woof, I think after 300 odd posts Carrie just might be legit...
  5. Nahhh. This is the best sporting moment ever! Steven Bradbury Though for individual unstoppability... Jonah Lomu 1995
  6. LegalEagle-ish, Are you really trying to justify their behaviour?
  7. Any source for that? My gut feel is that, yes, young people are more likely than older people to be victims of violence, but the perpetrator is also more likely to be a young person. The high victim numbers should not make us ignore the high perpetrator numbers. Besides, my experience is that the little buggers think they are untouchable. Sadly, they are often right.
  8. Can't you politely move all offending objects to the pavement?
  9. Fondue sets.
  10. Having not got an explanation, I turned to Google. It seems to think that, English slang-wise, 'mott' doesn't actually refer to his girlfriend but just... erm... part of his girlfriend. Or rather, a certain part of his girlfriend. Which begs the question as to whether JetSetWilly has been living up to his name! And still doesn't explain the etymology.
  11. Woof, I worked that much out on my own - but why?? The best I could get was mott = "Mott the Hoople" = Rupaul, but I suspect that allegation would be shot down very quickly in a court of law. And "a fair bit of gear"?? The last fair bit of gear I saw weighed about an eighth of an ounce. And yes, I am a foreigner, though one that has been in the UK for quite a while.
  12. Can anyone offer me a translation of this sentence (well, the first half, anyway)? I think I understand what JSW is saying, I just can't decipher how I got there.
  13. So did you actually read Domitanus's posting, Gubodge?
  14. If you can't afford a bugaboo, aren't you supposed to use one of those sling things, to achieve the 'ethnic' look? Or is that passe now as well?
  15. They'd just started locking the park after dark - have they stopped again? The park is part of Sainsbury's territory, apparently.
  16. I think James Barber is your man. Send in the ticket-writers. I would have thought a guaranteed set of tickets would have them there in no time. Goodness knows they used to get to the Hamlets ground on a regular evening basis when people parked with their wheels on the pavement. It was like a nightly shooting fish in a barrel session.
  17. As opposed to trying to get two kids out of a car in the busiest area of the car park, where if a child manages to get 1-2m away from the parent it ends up in immediate and possibly fatal danger as it wanders into the area with most car movement?
  18. And I think that is the best solution, HH. I can see why P&C spaces are required with extra space either side, but why they have to be right up front near the entrance is a different matter. A quiet corner of the car park would be so much more appropriate and probably safer. And the wrong people would be less inclined to nick them.
  19. Sinusoidal humps are very good. You can go over them at 15-20 mph pretty easily (and I have a can with a fairly hard suspension). I suspect that if you try anything faster they'd have a nasty kick. Alleyn Park (a road near Dulwich College / West Dulwich station) has some brand new ones if you want to try them out.

    Abruzzo

    Oops. Sorry. :-$

    Abruzzo

Jah, The red grape used in Abruzzo is Montepulciano (as in Montepulciano d'Abruzzo). Not to be confused with the Montepulciano region (the one you mainly see in shops), which it mainly the Sangiovese grape. There's also the Trebbiano d'Abruzzo if you like whites.
  22. I went to Jongleurs in Clapham many years ago and a fellow on the next table was asked to leave for heckling. Shame really, as he was really funny and the bloke on stage was severely dying on his a***. Some sort of comedy-magic act. Minus the comedy. And the magic was crap, too.
  23. I've used Sidcup a bit. Nice range and a really good short game practice area. You need to pay an annual fee for the short area, but it has all the balls you need thrown in.
  24. Eight down. Debut Tredwell coming in. Broad at 11 not fully fit (back strain).
  25. Not so fast, matey. You come on here, fling baseless accusations around and then think you can slink out of the thread? You have accused me incorrectly. I suggest you grow some balls, apologise and withdraw your comments. And, in future, when posting, it's a good idea to: 1) read the other posts you are going to comment upon. That's all of the post. Even the big words. 2) try and understand their argument 3) then post your reply. If you are not capable of 1) and 2), then leave 3) to the adults.
