    Boris is out

At least the Tory's back-stabbing is quick, efficient and done (mostly) behind closed doors. Labour seems to be waiting for Corbyn to slowly bleed to death, occasionally giving the wound a good kick.

If the UK had voted to remain, then I would have welcomed a petition for parliament to ratify the decision.

Theresa May, Ruth Davidson, Sturgeon, Merkel, Caroline Lucas - Very, very competent. Clinton - Capable and will do the job, but question marks. Has huge advantage of being 'not Trump'. Angela Eagle, Kezia Dugdale - Really not sure. Eagle did well at her one dispatch box, but just can't see her holding Labour together. Dugdale is being completely outshone by Davidson and Sturgeon. Leanne Wood (Plaid Cymru), Natalie Bennett (still Green leader) - seem way out of their depth.
  6. Apparently it is now 12 miles. Though that still doesn't stop them saying, "sorry, I'm not going that way". And they wonder why Uber is so popular.
  7. New joke: Q. How many Brexiters does it take to change a light bulb? A: "I never said there was a light bulb"
  8. This deserved a whole new thread?
  9. Oh, look. A squirrel.
  10. I am no Corbyn fan (that will come as no surprise) and I don't think what he said was too controversial. But he did phrase it rather badly and, as an intro to the report into Labour anti-Semitism, was pretty badly timed and insensitive. He should have known there would be Jewish groups in the audience that would take badly to such a reference.

  12. I always thought you were a Thatcher fan, Jah.
  13. Plus Scottish Labour and Scottish Tories.
  14. Still won't stop the Guardian from whinging, though.
  15. Sorry, quids, but I'll only move on when I see what's on offer. If free movement is back on the agenda I might be persuaded.

If only the little [expletive, plural] got out and voted last week, we wouldn't be in this whole sorry mess.
  17. My guess is that Corbyn will resign sometime soon, but if he doesn't and he gets re-elected, then the Lib Dems might suddenly have 150 or so more MPs in the near future. Though I think they'll try and form Labour 2.0 first.

    Boris is out

Gove is an intellectual. Vine is an experienced media person and, it sounds, quite strategically savvy. That's quite a team. He's obviously smart enough to take her advice and it look like the strategy was a good one.
  19. They are the only party to have announced a Remain policy. In a Corbyn vs Gove Election, a Lib Dem vote is the obvious choice.

    Theresa May PM

My worry with May is that I suspect she is/was a secret Brexiter - almost as much as I suspect Boris was really a Remainer. But, she does seem the best of the runners. "Anyone but Boris" I hope becomes "Anyone but Gove".

    EU Petition

The problem with your theory is that a Leaver stated the petition, back at a time when they thought they would lose. Plus, Farage said repeatedly that a close result would mean he would push for a second referendum (again, when he thought he would lose). http://www.mirror.co.uk/news/uk-news/nigel-farage-wants-second-referendum-7985017 So, would Leavers have demanded a re-run? Quite demonstrably yes.
