Funny, that's just the sort of thing Steven Taylor would say.
  2. You could ask Quick Print in Maxted Road for the bound draft copy?
  3. What dentist do you go to, malumbu? I always used to get a scale and polish as part of my check up, but they seem to have stopped doing it.

Thanks for the explanation. Relieved to see the players are not actually counting every post themselves 🙂

  10. The place in front of the cricket club opposite the old Harvester is there again this year.
  11. All over now. Apparently the guy is safe. Good news.
  12. Apparently somebody threatening to jump off KCH roof 😭 Apparently the hospital is blocked off.

Unless you are Steven Taylor posting under another name.

There are > many not from these groups misbehaving. The person who posted that was just looking for a reaction. Click on his name to see his other posts. Edited to make clear that I'm not referring to malumbu!

I don't think there are termites in East Dulwich! Might you be able to get hold of the previous survey? I don't know if it was the owner who told you nothing was flagged up, but if so, they would, wouldn't they? Do you know why the couple pulled out after having had a survey done? I once pulled out of buying a house I was very keen on because of the survey.
  18. Oh! Just seen you said the heucheras had actually come apart from their roots. Not much to save then possibly 😭 I just googled, and I haven't read all this, but it might help? http://www.lifeinplants.com/life-in-plants/pest-alert-vine-weevils-about-and-many-sad-heucheras
  19. Empty out all the compost in the pots that the heucheras are in, or any other pots with vine weevil damage, and dispose of it (not in your garden). Wash every speck of compost from what's left of the roots of the heucheras. Wash the containers very thoroughly indeed. Hopefully you have now got rid of any remaining grubs or eggs. Replant the heucheras in completely fresh (new) compost and cross your fingers that they have enough roots left to grow. You might be better planting them in smaller pots to start off with. Heucheras are unfortunately prone to vine weevil, so unless you are very attached to them you may be better cutting your losses and starting completely again with something else. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news! ETA: I know you said you had too much soil to send to landfill, but so far as I know, there are no chemicals available for non-commercial gardeners to treat vine weevil. I don't have a solution unless you bag it all up and take it to the tip a bit at a time 😭 ETA: Nematodes are fine at the right time of year but expensive, especially if you have a lot of pots to treat. Personally I think it would be much safer in the long term to get rid of any compost which may have eggs in (which I don't think the nematodes can treat until they have hatched into the vile grubs, but I may be wrong).

After thirty years I can't remember, but I imagine either it's in the survey or the surveyor told me. I have the survey somewhere. Was your structural surveyor not able to explain the sloping floor? Isn't that sort of thing what you pay them for?!
  21. My house has a sloping floor in the top right room and apparently it's bomb damage. Quite a few bombs fell round here in WW2. ETA: I've been here 30 years and it was like it when I moved in (I had a full structural survey done at the time). Are you thinking of buying the house? If so, you definitely should rule out any potentially expensive causes of the slope before burning your bridges (or knock down the price ...)

Silly question, but if she gets the same bus as him can't he just return it to her? Or, another silly question, could you contact the school?
  24. There used to be a Chinese Elvis who regularly performed in a restaurant on the Old Kent Road. Sadly I never saw him. However I did once spend a memorable (for many reasons) New Year's Eve at an Indian restaurant where there was an Indian Elvis. It was brilliant 😁
