  2. You could have a look at this thread: /forum/read.php?20,2037970,page=1 Also, a few months back I had a fantastic vegan roast at The Actress. If they still have the same chef, it would be worth checking that out on a Sunday.

Well, they wouldn't be "my" recipes, they would be recipes devised by other people :)) :)) :)) You probably wouldn't want to eat "my" recipes. Those usually consist of seeing what I've got in the fridge and making it all into a soup :)) :)) :))

Except I stupidly assumed it would be free. But it isn't :(

But also wondering what the explanation was???
  6. Organic Village has loads of stuff at the back. Gather in Bellenden Road is brilliant. The Ivy House has a new chef and he does a great vegan burger. ETA: I have also found it challenging. Someone on here recommended the Bosh cookbooks, which are excellent. I also use the How Not To Die cookbook a lot. I try out a few new recipes a month, make a load and freeze them. If I don't like them I delete them from my repertoire! I find it's useful to keep a stock of snacks in the freezer. Also I make my own hummus, and olive tapenade. Both very quick and easy in a food processor. I also second Health Matters (they have a load of useful things in the back part of the shop) and Tart for yummy lunches, though not all their options are completely plant based.

  8. Oh that's good news, I wondered what that was going to be!

Bloody hell, I thought you were joking, but .... https://www.southwarknews.co.uk/news/lidl-southwark-bermondsey-peckham-locations/ I used to trek down to the Lidl in Peckham, but it got too much like a trip to Ikea. Too many impulse buys because things are so cheap. I still have cornichons in honey (why?!) in my cupboard from a Lidl visit several years ago :))

Crikey, that's a very convincing argument, you've got me thinking now :)) Maybe you could start a petition?
  12. Google the make and the problem. Might be a simple fix. Good luck!

  14. I brought all my stuff back in a shopping trolley. Yes it was quite heavy but that was mainly with stuff from Gather in my own glass jars. But I grow my own potatoes etc so less to buy and less to carry. All good exercise, whatever! As regards Lordship Lane, it would be very boring if it sold everything. There wouldn't be much reason to go to different places then!

I have a personal shredder, but I had far too much to shred like that. It would have taken weeks. OK if you've only got smallish quantities. I shall shred as I go in future! But in these online days, I am accumulating less paper. A large shredder like you get in workplaces would do it easily, but obviously you'd need access to one!

Well about ten minutes' walk, I'd have said, from the Goose Green end of Lordship Lane. That's shortish. I don't understand the rest of your post. I'm not trying to drum up trade for the shop because they need more people to go there. I'm suggesting they have a great selection of good quality and reasonably priced fruit and veg, or at least they have had whenever I go past. I bought a load there last week.
  18. I've been destroying decades worth of financial papers. I stick them in a large bucket of water, leave them a bit, mush them up and put them in a bin bag.

Not Lordship Lane, but a shortish walk from it, the little supermarket type shop in Bellenden Road on the left as you head towards Peckham has a great range of really fresh fruit, veg and herbs outside, at very reasonable prices. I got a load there after I had stocked up at Gather (cooking a load of stuff to freeze).
  20. Blimey!
  21. At the top of the hill, surely? :)

It didn't "replace" Pussy Liquor. Pussy Liquor was, thank God, renamed after - let's say - poor feedback on this very forum. An ill-advised joke on Meat Liquor, which at the time had only recently opened. I don't think any of the chefs were doing Heston Blumenthal stuff though. But I couldn't afford to find out :))
  23. That's very sad. Thinking of his family and friends.

But it was the parents who stood them on a reataurant table and changed their nappies. I can't see what ADHD or autism has to do with it?

I don't understand this. The staff in Franco Manca were aware that this was happening and didn't intervene in any way?
