  1. Susan expect chemicals? I am really trying to think what predictive text has mangled there :))
  2. The vegan cheese I have tried tastes nothing like non vegan cheese, but hey ho. I am teetering on the brink. Still eat meat (rarely at home), still eat eggs, still eat dairy. Sorry, off topic :(

  5. My grandkids are vegan. They love vegan burgers, and I wouldn't describe them as junk food (depending what is in them, obviously). They aren't full of fat, for a start.

I am pretty sure Royal Mail (and prior to that the Post Office) has always set the price of stamps, obviously taking into account the money the government required it to raise.

My laptop has always had Windows 10. The problem with the scanner arose after an update some months back.

Not only was it standing on its own feet, it was subsidising other things. ETA: But it wasn't Thatcher who set the price of stamps.

In case anyone else is having similar problems to me,I have now (at last) completely solved it. Purely by persistence, however. Epson have apparently just put new drivers for my model onto their website (or at least the exe file has a different name now) and it all works fine now including the scanner. Not sure whether to be aggrieved it took them so long, or relieved they now have. Relieved, on balance, I think!

  11. I just hope the Fail hasn't publicised this to bring the "vile" groups to the attention of people who might want to join them :(
  12. Er, Nero lol but what's an r between friends :)) ETA: Trumpet - brass. Fiddle - strings. Bow. :))

  14. Brockwell Park is on the 37 bus route? Depends on where you live I know.
  15. In the morning or afternoon?
  16. I moved to Elm Lodge Surgery in Burbage Road (just up from Herne Hill). It's less convenient than walking round the corner to DMC, but I'm very happy with it so far in terms of both the receptionists and the medical staff.
  17. Sorry to hear this. What time of day/night was it?

There is, but it hardly ever seems to be open, and it doesn't have nearly as wide a selection as Oddono's. I agree it's nearer to Goose Green though!
  19. They had to arrest him. That's the law.

  21. Haven't tried it but have used Annie Sloan paint. It's very different from using other paint, eg it dries extremely quickly, which is good in some ways but a pain in others. I would assume any chalk paint would be much the same?
  22. That stuff they carry back to their nests works. Sorry ants. Now we just have the flying ant season to look forward to. Hooray.
  23. The bloody bagging area never recognises my bag, so that adds about ten minutes onto my time while somebody comes and sorts that out before I've even started, grrrrrr.
  24. Dodo1, if you have time to make a slight detour (if memory serves it isn't that far from Jaipur), Jaisalmer is a fantastic place and you can also do a camel trek into the desert from there.
