Doesn't seem minor to me. It's stressful enough moving house without having an issue like this on top of it. Hope you sort it out soon, OP.

Pity the vet didn't do a proper job on the post mortems in the first place, eh. Might have avoided a lot of hysteria. I'm a bit surprised they got the same vet to look at them again, though - and surprise surprise he found puncture marks this time. How come he missed them on so many bodies before??? John of Chener Books always said he reckoned a lot of these supposedly-killed cats were initially the victims of road accidents.

From the report linked to above, it seems that far from lacking in interest and not progressing the case, in fact the Met have done a very thorough review of the evidence, in conjunction with various other bodies. I don't really know why people are so keen for there to be a cat killer on the loose. I'd have thought they'd have been delighted that there wasn't. ETA: Sorry RH, hadn't read your post at the time I posted this - I think we are saying the same things!

Sorry to be dim, but isn't the whole point of having a tracking number that you know where the parcel is in the system, so you don't have to wait in unless you know for sure it's coming that day? Have I misunderstood, or has the system gone wrong?
  8. What a shame John of Chener Books isn't here to see this. He always held there was no cat killer, and was roundly criticised by the SNARL defenders.

  10. There would be more police around, and more within easy distance of the crime, even if not on the same road. Also with more patrolling, the criminals could not be sure one would not suddenly appear. That's a deterrent in my book.
  11. Helen Hayes is a brilliant MP for Dulwich.
  12. It's easy enough to get to Tooting from here. Bus to either Oval or Elephant, then Northern Line.

  14. Same here. Thousand pound excess and no doubt a hike in future premiums. They've done all the investigating, and now a company called GeoBear is going to inject some stuff beneath the bay to stablise it, meanwhile I have massive cracks right through to my living room, through which the wind is blowing :( https://www.geobear.co.uk/ After that it has to be rebuilt, and after that redecorated inside and outside. I gather that the stabilising should be done quite quickly, however due to the very hot summer and the number of insurance claims, the rebuilding and redecorating may take longer. Depending on what has caused the cracks, dickens, I wouldn't have thought it was much use just doing repairs to the cracks without addressing the cause as well? Or have I misunderstood your post?

  16. I don't understand this. If the OP's car hadn't been off the road, would this man have been given a lift to Kings? And if so, what was the scam, exactly? Or was the man assuming that nobody would want to give somebody a lift at 6am?

  18. Assuming you live in East Dulwich and he was going to Kings, the taxi fare is six pounds ....

What do you mean? I would use it frequently and I know many others who would as well. I presently have to make a five minute detour to avoid having to try and cross the road there.
  20. Your heading is a bit confusing!
  21. Those posts were from 2013.

The OP said she knew the council would take it away if left outside, so presumably there was a reason why she couldn't leave it outside!

  24. I'm sorry to hear this, but we went in there for lunch shortly after it opened and came out (having eaten) still hungry. It seemed like a place for snacks rather than a meal? Not sure if that was the intention?
