  1. Apologies if this point has already been made, but surely a large part of the current perceived problem is due to skips and builders' vehicles? Once every home in East Dulwich has had every possible extension and been gentrified till it can be gentrified no more, the skips and builders will move elsewhere and there will be more available parking places :))
  2. Where would people buy coal? Surely all you can buy these days is smokeless fuel?
  3. Franklins does a very yummy bacon sandwich :) ETA: Not sure if it is still on their brunch and/or bar snacks menu, though.
  4. Tart on Lordship Lane have a notice up that due to a robbery they will no longer take cash at all and will only take cards (with no charge). Not sure where this leaves people who don't have a card :(
  5. Sorry to miss you, but great there was such a crowd!

Nice to be back indoors. Didn't see the underpants, sadly. Saw the banner. I think it said "I'm so angry I'm prepared to catch pneumonia" :)) Crikey, we went home to mulled wine in front of a blazing open fire in nearly April!
  7. Yep, really good to have been part of this. It was blooming cold though!
  8. Bic Basher Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > London Live news coverage. > > Thanks Bic Basher. Is that the usual standard of London Live news? Really poor presenter who kept repeating herself and couldn't read the teleprompter (?) eg she read viable as visible. Plus Dulwich mis spelled (sp?) Pity they didn't show the crowds who were there, or any of the speeches, eg by Helen Hayes, or the march. But great to get the coverage, regardless! Proud to have been there.
  9. Really hoping that the weather doesn't put people off going. Please come and support your local football club!

  11. Decided to go with the BT deal. Better router than Plusnet and hopefully faster speeds, plus with two combined offers it works out at around ?18 a month including the line rental. So if my calculations are correct, I'm saving nearly ?150 over the Plusnet deal, over eighteen months. Also changed my mobile contract, as that seemed a good deal too, with another offer. What could possibly go wrong? :))
  12. Surely if you are already getting HD you are not going to suddenly stop getting it?

    Afternoon Tea

Basically what it boils down to is that people should be able to spend their money how they want without feeling cricised by others.
  14. BT have got what looks like a good deal on at the moment, which having just spent some time chatting to a (very helpful) Plusnet person but not being able to get them to reduce the fibre deal below ?26 pcm for an eighteen month contract I am thinking of going for. https://www.moneysavingexpert.com/latesttip/?weeklytip=14-03-2018&utm_source=MSE_Newsletter&utm_medium=email&utm_term=13-Mar-18-8258&utm_campaign=nt-highlights&utm_content=4#bband The deal ends today. Has anybody else got good or bad experiences to share re BT broadband? Fibre, that is. ETA: The deal looks a bit complicated though, plus I don't need or want BT sports! I'm going to have a proper look at it over a cup of tea!

    Afternoon Tea

This all reminds me of somebody who posted on this forum to criticise in no uncertain terms somebody who had spent their own money on their own wedding dress, on the grounds that she had spent too much. I really don't see why anybody should justify what they spend their own money on to anybody else. We are hardly talking about a "Let them eat cake" situation. Oh, hang on though ..... :))
  17. Yes, that's why I started the thread ..... This area presumably all comes under the same transmitter.
  18. Apparently Freeview is changing in this area on 21 March. If you use Freeview you will probably have to retune for some channels. https://www.freeview.co.uk/tvchanges?utm_source=nmpipaidsocial&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=700mhzpaidsocial

Your posting history since registering on the forum at the end of January doesn't exactly indicate great intellectual capacity, so if I were you I would be wary of calling other people's posts pathetic :)

I don't imagine many people go for that, but if they do, so what if it's a special occasion and they can afford it? Many families don't have as much to spend on food as you pay for an Indian meal out or a couple of pints at the EDT. Or a holiday in Turkey. Is your expenditure on those things obscene as well?
  21. At least you didn't pay them in advance.

Also you can do London-y things before/after the tea (or lunch). My sisters and I sometimes meet up in the V&A, which has lovely rooms to eat in, but I don't think they do afternoon teas as such.
