  3. Brockwell Park is on the 37 bus route? Depends on where you live I know.
  4. In the morning or afternoon?
  5. I moved to Elm Lodge Surgery in Burbage Road (just up from Herne Hill). It's less convenient than walking round the corner to DMC, but I'm very happy with it so far in terms of both the receptionists and the medical staff.
  6. Sorry to hear this. What time of day/night was it?

There is, but it hardly ever seems to be open, and it doesn't have nearly as wide a selection as Oddono's. I agree it's nearer to Goose Green though!
  8. They had to arrest him. That's the law.

  10. Haven't tried it but have used Annie Sloan paint. It's very different from using other paint, eg it dries extremely quickly, which is good in some ways but a pain in others. I would assume any chalk paint would be much the same?
  11. That stuff they carry back to their nests works. Sorry ants. Now we just have the flying ant season to look forward to. Hooray.
  12. The bloody bagging area never recognises my bag, so that adds about ten minutes onto my time while somebody comes and sorts that out before I've even started, grrrrrr.
  13. Dodo1, if you have time to make a slight detour (if memory serves it isn't that far from Jaipur), Jaisalmer is a fantastic place and you can also do a camel trek into the desert from there.
  14. I meant, more detail about the kind of dancing :)
  15. Give us a clue what they are??

    TV

The signal from the transmitter has changed and you need to reset your TV. https://www.freeview.co.uk/tvchanges#js0yGfo2K0Dts8if.97 Thanks for the reminder, I haven't done mine yet, I forgot all about it :))
  17. BigEd, had a lot of mice, have you? :))
  18. My grandchildren started coming to stay when the youngest was about four, and what they mainly wanted to do was go to playgrounds :)) It's difficult if you can't walk very far, but depending on where you are starting from, there's a kids' playground at the far end of Goose Green (next to Aneto) which is near the bus stops going towards the Rye, and not too far from the Lordship Lane bus stops. Feed the ducks on Peckham Rye pond? If you go in the top entrance to the park, the 484 stops fairly near it and it's a reasonably short walk from there to the pond. I take birdfood (seeds and grains) as bread isn't good for them. There will also probably be pigeons and squirrels to provide further amusement. Oddono's is usually a good bet for ice cream! ETA: Probably not suitable for you as it does involve walking, but the Children's Zoo in Battersea Park is brilliant.

RSPB Big Garden Birdwatch 2018 results - sadly not broken down by region (unless I missed it) but interesting nevertheless: https://www.rspb.org.uk/globalassets/downloads/biggardenbirdwatch/20172018/326-0647-17-18_bgbw_2018_results_england.pdf There's a short commentary/explanation here: https://www.rspb.org.uk/get-involved/activities/birdwatch/results/?utm_source=journey6&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=bgbw2018

It's a useful page and it isn't a business or money making ploy.

Thanks, I'll try that but I'll wait till I've got the new router set up!

It's an Epson multifunction printer/scanner etc presently connected by WiFi. The scanner hasn't worked since a Windows 10 update, and now (just today, though I haven't used it for a week due to flu) the printer doesn't work either because the laptop has stopped recognising the printer for some reason. However I am changing my broadband provider this week, so I will wait till I get the new router and try again then, as there isn't much point in getting it going now and then everything changes. I can't find the USB lead, though I presume it must have come with one, otherwise I would have tried connecting it via USB. I had a lengthy email discussion in January re the scanner with Epson technical suppport, however they were not able to sort it and asked me to phone them. When it tranpired that I had to be in Canada or the US to do this, they said they couldn't help further and that I had to contact Epson in the UK (which I haven't done yet but if necessary I will). The scanner not working was a minor inconvenience, but the printer is set to be a major inconvenience if I can't sort it. Obviously I have googled for solutions!

  25. Had you thought of letting your present home and renting a place in Hove to see how you like it? Then you haven't burned your boats. Don't know how that would work job wise though. I've lived in the country,by the sea and in London, and loved them all at different points of my life. You will get to know people wherever you go. If you sell your house here, depending on what happens to relative house prices you might find it hard to move back in the future. Good luck whatever you decide. If it feels right, just do it!
