Stationary car hit today Dunstan?s Grove - witnesses?
Sue replied to binker's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
Or try and find out who was delivering or removing stuff in the road at that time. The person having work done may know or could find out. Then see if there are marks on the relevant vehicle or if it has just been "repaired" ? -
Sorry duplicate post

Prison or a fine is too good for them, > they deserve something much worse. Someone who would do this is clearly not well and needs help. What is the "much worse" you think they deserve? I say that as an animal lover.

According to the news tonight the police have traced two of the drivers, who are being interviewed.

Might it be cheaper in the long run to get the car mended out with the insurance? I know you have to report it to them but not sure how it works other than that. -

Well, we ancient people can't all afford more expensive accommodation than that when travelling, remarkable as that may sound for somebody who lives in East Dulwich :))

I can't help, just wanted to say I feel for you. And my suspcious mind suspects that at least some of the workmen know exactly who it was. For which suspicion I have no evidence whatever. But most white vans in my road seem to have something to do with all the building work going on. -
singalto Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Sue, Freedom passes are valid on the Overground > before 9.30 which makes things more complica Yes they are, but not on all other rail services. I don't know the ins and outs of trains through Denmark Hill, but I just looked up the Freedom Pass rules and amongst them is that you can only travel after 9.30am on "Southeastern services between Denmark Hill and Peckham Rye". I have certainly been stopped at London Bridge when travelling on a Freedom Pass before 9.30am, and made to buy a ticket, because I didn't know (but this was travelling from East Dulwich not Denmark Hill) If staff are randomly stopping Freedom Pass holders from catching a train which they are entitled to travel on on their pass at that time of day, then personally I would make a formal complaint.

My parcel they lost last > month was found 3 weeks later and today they found > my parcel that they couldn?t find yesterday. What > is going on there? It?s a joke. I can't remember exactly now, but isn't one of the reasons the delivery office is closing down and moving to Peckham because there is insufficient room? Especially at this time of year, I imagine they just physically haven't got enough space to put all the parcels, let alone try and organise them so that they can easily find them. I'm not trying to defend the indefensible, so if the issue is actually bad management, then that is clearly something which needs to be addressed. (And also dare I mention - privatisation.) ETA: Also - you can complain. Online. So that your feelings get to somebody who (maybe, just maybe) can get something done about it, which posting on here can't, satisfying as it is to vent :)

I have connected my laptop to my TV in the past, but my laptop screen is smaller than my TV screen! :)

Overcrowding at Denmark hill Station

Yes, if this proposal was abroad somewhere (or even elsewhere in the UK) I would be in its target market, and I'm retired. And not likely to be disruptive (I hope!) For various reasons I don't particularly like the new incarnation of The Cherry Tree, and I don't go there any more, but nevertheless I would be sorry to see it close. If they brought back the fantastic chef who was there for a very brief period when it was also under excellent management (all sacked by the previous vile owners) I would be eating there as often as my finances allowed. However sadly that won't happen, so I shan't be.

When you say the Firestick has Netflix on it, presumably you still have to pay for a Netflix subscription? ETA: I'm wondering about getting a Firestick or similar and using it on my existing TV to see how I get on with it, before I decide what new TV to get ...... but I don't particularly want to get trapped in anything with a load of Amazon ads etc ....

Disposing of paint? Would anyone collect it?
Sue replied to DulwichLondoner's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
On a separate but related subject, I have an old microwave to dispose of, is there any way I can get that collected free? Don't really want a trip to the tip just with that though I will if I have to. ETA: Sorted thanks to a very kind forum member -
Thanks, obviously I did google beforte I posted on here. I found a few children's services, including Christingle, and including on Christmas Eve, but I was really looking for an adult carol service. Sorry, I should have been clearer in the original post. ETA: I will add this to the original post.

Just find the best > looking screen you can. > > Second tip: you can't buy a screen that is too > big, unless you cannot physically get it into the > room. It needs to fit on a shelf so I'm limited by the vertical dimension. I'm thinking 40". Screens are different now and although my 26" just fits in, I think a 40" would now (I've looked up some dimensions). I have one of those long narrow living rooms (small terraced house with a through living room), I can't move the sofa and there's an open fire opposite, so the only place to put the telly is in the alcove. I could make the shelf lower so there is more space above it, but I'd need to get someone to do that as they are floating shelves. Anyway I don't want a TV dominating the room, I don't watch it that much .... Another issue is that where the telly is is about the worst place in the house for a WiFi signal, so unless I move the router I'm going to have to get those power line things to increase the signal there (or get a more powerful router but I'm not sure that would work).
